200 would work great with a progressive controller. I ran 150 with an edlebrock progressive controller on my C6. With ARH headers X-Pipe, NPP Exhaust, VMAX and Halltech Killer B I put down 586 to the rears.

The stock glass pistons can only take so much cylinder pressure before they give up. Jet has added around 150rwhp to when his car was stock. That's a nice gain. To add another 150-200 rwhp on top of that will take very careful tuning if it's going to last.

Since nitrous burns the combustion event so much faster, we need to retard the timing so we still make maximum cylinder pressure when the piston is 13-15 degrees ATDC. If we don't retard the timing enough, max cylinder pressure occurs when the piston is close to TDC and the rod is almost straight up and down. Imagine trying to push a bicycle pedal as hard as you can when it's at the 12 o'clock position. That's what it's like when you don't retard the timing enough on nitrous. The piston does't have much leverage on the crank and you wind up breaking piston ringlands and more. The tune on nitrous is super important to make things last, but just like glass, the stock pistons can only take so much pressure before they too will shatter. A proper tune just delays the process allowing you to go a little higher before the kaboom.

Agreed. It's only a matter of time. It's not if but when something will break. It's true of a 150 OR a 200 shot. There's not "that" much difference between the two though. It's not like it'll last forever on a 150 but oh no don't add another 50 or kaboom! With proper tuning and fueling a 200 shot will work (especially progressively like noted above) just like a 150 but be prepared to build the engine at some point. Gotta pay to play!

Yes I have the money to build what I want now. I have chosen to just build in steps as I go. Everything on my car has been paid by cash, not credit. I just choose to do it in steps and enjoy each one of them. As for nitrous, that will be comming soon. The next step for me will be axles, driveshaft, clutch and a drag set up. Then it will be nitrous, while buidling a short block. This isnt the first car I have built, have had several different cars over time. I have blown several car motors also, so if it goes it is what it is. Just a part of the game we play when going past stock.

Also one of the reasons for this build was to not be like everyone else. Most have gone to TVS or Whipple ect. I wanted a all motor car like the F-body days. Who knows I might just get a wild hair and say screw building something for a pro-charger and build a nice forged motor that will handle a 3-400 shot of gas. I like the gas for the amount of torque it makes. Which with such a big heavy car it will make the car scoot off the line...

Well damn, Patrick you wouldn't be planning any trips to Florida any time soon are ya? Cause I'm not getting any where near what I should be getting out of my set up either(Same cam and similar exhaust, but no heads, or fast)...

Nice numbers, I knew that combo had it in it. Just goes to show how important a good tune is.

+1, it really is hard for people to understand that a TUNE is one of the most major components to a build. I thought the original guy I had was good to get it right. I was complete wrong, I wasted money on tune's that were never 100% and only got me by. The car was so off it wouldnt run for crap, it was not worth driving. I did a lot of search on who was the best and who I could trust. The same name kept comming up, and that was Patrick G. I knew Patrick G from back in the day when I had a 98 SS camaro, and built it, and other cars over the years. To me it was well worth having him come pick up the car and to get it right. Sometimes we have to learn the hard way, but I learn my lesson. For now all my tuning needs will be addressed by Patrick. I will get my own copy of EFI live, and this way I can get tune updates from Patrick via email.

Hey thanks. The only missing component now is the Mezler water pump. I am sure patrick can hook you up in Ten.

The car has finally turned around and is now better. I have driven it from Victoria back in 6th gear and got 22 mpg. Considering before I could not use 6th till after 75+ mph and it is actually nice to drive now. I can let it get below 1400rpms and still go with no surge. Want to thank PatrickG for the tune well worth it. I am just happy I can now actually drive my car and enjoy it.

Wow, I was just in Nashville last week. Sorry I missed you.

Glad to hear that the mpg picked up on the highway too Jet. That's always a bonus.

Great results guys! Glad Patrick was able to get it rocking & rolling! I knew with a good tune 500rwhp was no problem! Now maybe someday we can get a set of the PRC aftermarket LS3 heads!

I was waiting on that to happen, but you have yet to release them or have you now ??? Also maybe spec out a bigger cam to run with the new heads ??? Then throw a shot of dope on it and call it a day, well till I build a short block
