20's or 22's Pros and Cons?

I did a search and didn't find anything.

I have the stock LS heritage 18's. I have a friend who can get me 20's or 22's for the same price at wholesale prices.

He said that 20's are harder to get and they don't all fit on the Camaro as well, and I should get 22's for the same price and they are easier to get....I guess in brands. He also said the offset is more difficult to work with?

I drive my car everyday, and wondered about suspension and longitivity of the tires themselves? Will I have to lower my car with 22's?

What are your guys recommendations? Views and opinions?

The issue he speaks of is clearing the brembos, but the same wheels that don't clear the brembos in 20's won't clear them in 22". It's all about the shape of the wheel. You have the LS, so you don't have to worry about wheels clearing the brakes.

20's will be lighter and you'll get better performance out of them because of the thicker sidewall.

22's will fill the wheel well better and will look like they belong more.

It's a matter of personal opinion.

I was thinking about about this when I ordered 22's for the SIM.

I think 22's look like they belong more because the car is so big. My main concern is what offset I should use with TSW Donington 22's. The rears are 22x10.5 with 35mm offset; fronts are 22x9's with 20mm offset. Hopefully all goes well come Saturday morning when they're installed.

It really is true when you hear 22s for looks, 20s for performance.

You WILL lose performance with 22s. You will have little to no traction and you'll be slower but they just FIT the car and are beautiful.

With 20s you get the traction you need plus the acceleration is all still there and they look good
