I have a 350Z and its a fun little car to run around in. Fuel economy sucks and there is only enough room for 1 drink, a wetnap and maybe a half a roll of nickles. It handles great, brakes OK, and sounds good for a V6. I think you will like the updates the 370Z has received, but in the end the Camaro is more practical, the SS is quicker and you dont have the tuner stigma.

Used SS's are going for high twenties now. A little more patience and they will be in the mid twenties or lower. Really, the 370Z needs a LOT more HP to compete nowadays. 333hp or whatever it has would've been fine 10 years ago. Something that ugly ought to be really quick.

SS with long tubes can't be compared to a 370z. Two completely different animals. 6.2L V8 with headers is pure music. 370z - cute but doesn't do anything for me.

How many 370z are running low 12s with just basic bolt ons?
idk why people with mustangs and camaros only look at drag numbers. the car handles better and feels better on a tack.... maybe its not as fast on a drag, but a track where the rest of the world cares about is where it shines. and really its only a second behind the SS, plus it handles better.. in my eyes the 370z out performs the SS.

Same reason 370Z owners dont cross-shop the Miata. The Miata handles great and is an extremely popular track car. Straight line speed counts too.

Exactly, high 20s, not $23,900

but the Miata looks bad. the 370z and camaro at least have the looks.

again most people here look at is drag numbers. go to the camaro VS threads. all drag.... and they rag on BMWs, 370z, STIs etc when those cars are overall better performance wise.
heres my only thing i want this thread to understand.

if you want a good everyday car that is practical, more reliable, cheaper to fix and mod. comes with a softer suspension, with a big engine. and looks fantastic. get the camaro.

if you want a car that is not very practical, only has two seats ,small trunk, tighter and stuffer suspension, higher revving engine. and you want to go at least a day-week, maybe a month without seeing another on the road and you want people to ask you want kind of car is that. go for a 370z. pretty much a car that is driven by 95% enthusiast. geez with that description sounds like a ferrari also lol

That is what I was thinking, I could probably get it down to at least 22,000 and that is less then what I paid for my Camaro. I guess what I really want is both cars but that I can not afford two car payments at the moment.

I think you may be the only person who has actually contributed something useful to this thread, besides a few others

Have 90% of you guys in here talking shit about the 370Z ever even driven or raced one? Probably not.

At OP if your going to buy a brand new car then get an SS as it will have the awesome looks of the Camaro and that V8 rumble, if your going used try to pick up a 370Z for the low 20k range like was mentioned in here. I've seen a stock auto 370Z run high 13s in the 1/4 mile (by a regular every day driver on stock wheels/tires) and numerous 370Zs with Intake, Catback, and testpipes/HFCs in the 290-310WHP range. Also to who ever said there's more possibilities with a Camaro, the 370Z has just as strong an aftermarket and just as large a following. I personally know people with Twin Turbo Z's, Supercharged Z's, and the basic bolt on Z's.

Also considering the fact that you posted this on a CAMARO forum, where 80% of the people call everything without a Chevy badge garbage/ricer I don't know what kind of a response you were expecting. Go over to the 370z.com and ask this same question and see what response you get

My favorite thing about American Car owners is that they are so bias go on bimmerpost or the370z.com and everyone is respectful, sure there are a few bad apples but you expect that on Camaro5 it's just like a Mustang or Challenger forum. Everyone think their car is the best even when it's not. It's like that fail of a thread ZL1 vs GTR all over again

In a Camaro SS, stock, that is basically all it has is straight line speed. Sure it can be made to do around a track but I'm not spending $5000+ to do so. It will corner admirably stock but nothing like an M3, 5.0 Mustang, 370Z or Corvette.
