Al O, if I recall correctly, spoke a few words. He related words to the effect of how gratefull he was that GM gave them the resources and opportunity to work on the ZL1 project, that GM was a large Corporation. He appeared to be very humble and genuinely gratefull. I was struck by his thoughts. I felt by his words that this was a pet project, small in scale for a Global Company to be concerned about in it's "big picture". An allowance was made perhaps. A cottage project, alloted a small team and resources to "tinker with" and develop a product. This project may have been even closer to not bearing fruit than we may know. All conjecture based upon a few statements, and interpretation of feelings from body language, tone and inflection. At any rate, he was deeply thankfull to GM for sure. Thanks Mr Al Oppenheiser for all your dedication, hard work, passion and effort for the ZL1 Camaro.

Interesting!! Something tells me when we look back at this in five years (optimistic eh?) we will be very grateful we acted on it, did whatever it took to participate! Cheers will be in order!

If not for constant improvements, we would all be driving Henry's Model T. Every year there will be something better. For some it's simply a new color. For others a new interior and yet for more, a SC 580 HP engine.

If you ever think things are going to stand still, you've reached the bad end to a Twilight Zone episode.

And also.............................................. ..your dealer is an idiot!!!!!!!!!!

Fbodfather- Scott I'm not at all unhappy with my SS, it's a great car and I love it. I will never sell it unless something drastic happens in my life.

Instead of say I am pissed off, I actually mean disappointed that the ZL1 wasn't offered when I ordered my 2010. I fully plan on buying a ZL1 but I'm not going to sell my SS.

Of course I love my car, you signed it for me!

I love my 2010 Camaro but I would rather have the higher HP of the ZL1.

That would mean they'd have had to tell you three years before it's out that they were going to make it....

See: Auto Market suicide.

I'm not at all upset. It sort of works out for me, though...the timing, I mean. I couldn't have gotten any Camaro any earlier, if I'd have wanted to.

I enjoy my 2011 1SS.... Only issue i have with it is the front visibility, very difficult to see out at different angles..

When the 5th gen SS came out to market I had a fast 4th gen SS that I loved to drive. I would have traded it in for a new camaro but at the time, other things in my life where more important (i.e. buying a house, having a new born). So I waited and watched all of you have a great time with your new camaro's. Now that I have been putting money to the side for a few years now and I sold both of my camaro's it's time for me to play! So for me the timing for the ZL1 couldn't be more perfect!

It had no effect on me (obviously). However, I encourage chevy to continually improve the car. Do not allow its competitors to outclass it in performance. I would be displeased though if that happens.

I am glad that the zl1 is a reality.

I for one and am glad I have had my Camaro for almost 3 years. Its been a great ride. While the ZL1 isn't in the cards due to budget constraints -- I'm going to start finally, seriously modding my car. I may even put some ZL1 parts on her.

And maybe in 2014 I will get a ZL1.
