Shevyman: If you dont take the car when it arrives at the dealer they win, they will just sell it to the next person that walks off the street. You wont be punishing them for being a lousy dealer.

So you put it in say 2nd gear and then you hear the noise? If you got it all the way in gear and then your hearing the noise I would say this is not normal. I also have the 6 speed and am not familiar with this issue. Now, if by chance
you pull the clutch too early before your in gear you can get that grinding noise. As far as the engine shaking. Enjoy it!! That's the cam playing music!!! My LS1 GTO and LS2 GTO both had that. I love it!!!

You can force it into 2nd. The manual clearly states that if you force it you will do damage. That's what I'm asking the Original Poster. Is she forcing it into 2nd gear when the skip shift light comes on. She stated that "she didn't get it" or "understand" it. So that's why I'm asking.

I would take it to the dealer ASAP...before you do some major damage and they cross their arms and say they can't do anything.

I had the same symptoms on my 2005 Avalanche. Changing the Wiring and Plugs will have effect only 1 Month if this is so your Motorblock may have an crack to tiny to see by normal eyes. Cost of repair <3000 USD. Go to the dealer!

New cars always have some glitches that need repairing. When I bought my '96 Z28 new, it was in the shop the next morning for electrical problems. The first couple months of ownership I was driving rental cars more than my new Z28. Get it to the dealer.

I hope this isnt a trend...I have owned two(soon to be 3) brand new model year vehicles in my day and have had no real issues. had to bring them in for re-flashes of the computer for tranny one time and the glow plug box needed re-flash on my truck. Other than that they have been trouble free. I wish you the best of luck with your ordeal. Im interested to hear what happened.

Sounds like the clutch is not fully disengaging, make sure you push it all the way to the floor before you attempt to shift. If that doesn't help, it may need some fluid or adjustment.

LS3's and L99's shake at idle - sometimes.

Tranny probably needs to be replaced.

First off, you have a awesome car , There should be no grinding what so ever, take to dealer asap, also have them inspect sunroof, if you feel that they are not taking you seriously, take to another dealer ( if you can) but I would not drive it untill someone checks it out, might be something loose in transmission, so its important to have it checked out

The challenger guys were having an issue with their tremecs where when cold it would kind of grind alittle but go away when warm. Not sure if they use the same model tremec or not but it would be better just to get the dealer involved. If you drop it off document the mileage and condition of the car and let them know you are paying attention to that. Did they not go over the skip shift feature when the dealer delivered it to you? They should have. Dont know about the vibration but if something were wrong and it was skipping or something the check engine light would tell you. Probably is running right, you just have to get use to the new "feeling" of everything. Sunroof is an easy fix, nothing too involved. Only thing I could see that is of concern would be the trans. but they are easy to replace with a new one. Good luck and that car is beautiful also. Congrats.
