It is hard to make a camaro to compete with them.
i love my camaro too but i love my gtr more they really are two different kinds of cars the camaro wasnt made to beat the gtr

Yes I realize there are some out there that can run better, but I haven't found one yet...

You said "every time every track every type"... and I'll add that I did it on factory rubber and wheels... No slicks, no forged wheels...
stock gtrs run the mile at 180mph so yea a tt camaro can beat a stock gtr

You cannot get 700whp and mid 9s out of a gtr for 1500 bucks.

If you can afford a GT-R, which not everyone can, you would be correct. For those that can not, there are options out there that will allow them to play with the big boy toys.

Changing out the down pipe, adjusting the boost and tune completely changes the GT-R. It goes from wild to good gawd with minor tweaks, but they aren't cheap. I think the $1500 list of mods is going to be pretty small.

If it's coming off that I don't respect the GT-R, that isn't the case, I'm just sticking to the OP's original question. I wish the GT-R wasn't such a damn maintenance nightmare. That was what pushed me away from it when they first came out, well that and I am not paying a mark up. I'm also not a fan of cars that require dealer service every 2500 miles. That may have changed, I haven't looked at them since '09 or '10.

Hearing that the breaks need to be replaced every 10,000 miles, if one tire gets replaced they all have to be replaced or the computer cal gets pissed off, and a few other things I don't remember off the top of my head was enough for me to pass. Every time I see one it def gets my attention though.

A mid pipe and tune is a great starting place for the cars. People have a lot to learn about them before talking about them on the internet..

Meh... Yea GTR's are fast, and in the right color combo with the right cosmetic mods they can look fantastic. I respect the R35, its an engineering marvel. But I would take an SS and mod the crap out of it, over an R35. Something just doesnt excite me about a car thats more electronically complex than a T-800 terminator. I just have dreams sometimes about a 5th gen SS with a blower coming out of the hood, matte black paint, P-40 warhawk graphics, drag radials, pullies squeeling, supercharger screaming, cam rumbling, and 1000 hp on tap. I know I can get that Camaro of my dreams for less than a GTR.

An R34, well, thats a different story. Just listen to that thing!

Of course it is but I hear its ALOT easier than just about every manual trans car.

On topic to the OP question. A 6L80E TT equipped SS with a converter, 8-9 PSI, 18inch wheels and DR's, trailing arms and good tune will kill any stock GTR on the 1/4mile. Thats a 35K SS with about 15K in mods. If you can't run mid 10's with the above combo you need a driver mod or better track.

Misinformed? The ZR1 beats the GTR stock for stock anyway you look at it. It's annoying when people think that the GTR is faster and I'm just talking vehicle to vehicle obviously a crappy driver it goes out the window for any car. Fastest 1/4 for ZR1 is 10.7 with just slicks its 10.3. I'm sorry the GTR stock isn't getting that. Now I'm not bashing the GTR,I'm just saying the ZR1 is just better than it in track racing and drag racing which is expected though. Also most YouTube videos are retarded because it seems a lot f people lie on it about mods or just flat out terrible drivers. The few that actually can drive on that site really show what the vehicles can do stock

ZL1 lap time at Laguna 1:39.2
GTR lap time at Laguna 1:36.3.
ZL1 quarter mile time 12.1
GTR quarter mile time 11.1
ZL1 0-60 time: 3.8 seconds
GTR 0-60 time: 2.8 seconds
Looks like an ass whooping to me...

Fastest bone stock ZR1 1/4 I've seen is 10.8X @ 132...I believe the fastest bone stock 13 GTR has gone 10.7x..
All wheel drive and dual clutch puts it there with the best of them...
