Is anyone else getting a little annoyed by the constant attention? - Page 4 - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

When I go to a car show I have to lock the doors and walk away other wise the whole show is spent talking to everyone. The most common question is on price and when I tell them only 36K they nearly fall over (they expext more I guess).

I think Transformers has made the Camaro more popular with the younger generations. You'll see a 12yo or 13yo see the car and will recognize the car from Transformers, aka BumbleBee. The older folks will just see one badass muscle/sports car.

To be honest, Transformers is a pretty #@@# movie, typical Michael Bay crap. From my perspective its a *negative* to have a car associated with that drek...

But the camaro is such an awesome looking car, it doesn't really matter.

In Mississauga (suburb of Toronto) they had a test drive day at the largest mall in the city, Square One. they had two models available, the yellow and dark metallic red Camaro. I'd say in the dark metallic red, the camaro looks fantastic.

Like the 2010 mustang, i'd say the rear end is the weakest link in the design chain. On the yellow the lights stand out like sore thumbs, but they blend in more nicely on the deep red... strong sun really made the car glitter. Looks fatnastic. Very impressive car.

We're living in a golden age of pony cars -- they're back, better than ever and truly competitive with foreign offerings too.

Well just put on a smile and be polite. If you have a nice car, people will compliment you. People ask me about my mustang everywhere I go, or when I park it at our local "towers car night". It's unique, and not a whole lot of mustangs look like mines. So thus all the questions.

Its always a good feeling when a person drives or walks by and stop or keeps looking back at your car.

I don't enjoy the spotlight and one of the reasons I only drop my top in the 'vert at night. I don't mind talking to folks about the car though. I'm on a mission to be responsible for selling 20 of these cars. Got 3 sold so far....

But Sat. nite there was one that not only annoyed me, but made me want to punch the sucker.

I stopped by a local store to pick up a 6 pack...wasn't in the store ten seconds and a drunk walks in with his friend and asked me if that was the new 2009 Camaro. I replied with "No, it's a 2010". He says "that's the car I'm gonna get".

Anyway I walk outside to see a fresh pile of VOMIT

beside my rear tire. No other cars in the lot except the drunk and his friends multi-colored Firebird parked right beside me. MAD as MFer

came quickly.

As I opened the door to look inside to see if the asshole puked in my seat (I left the windows down b/c I was only gonna be a minute and no one else was around)...asshole steps up to car and says "hey, can i look inside" before another word was exchanged, he stepped up to the car, but not before he put his foot smack-dab-in-the-middle of his own PUKE!!!!

I said "Look out for that puke" and he realized he forgot where he'd been and backed the f up just as I was wheeling away!

I don't mind the attention but please if you want to look at the car when I'm driving please get into a slower lane so I can pass you up rather than sit in the fast lane going slower and slower while looking at me all the freaking time.

I would be glad to pass you up slowly if you get out of the way quick... if not you'll just see a streak of dark red zip on by.

Finally, it showed up at the dealership on Friday 6/19/09

Since then, I have gotten so much attention & I just love it. Have gotten alot of great comments on how "beautiful" this car is. I have already put 487 miles on it. Have done 2 road trips.

What a wonderful car, it has been so fun to drive and the handling and response of it has been unbelieveable. Can't wait to get home and drive it tonight.

Evil Tw1n- Why do you spend so much time on a Camaro forum only to leave negative comments. I like the Mustangs and the Challengers but I decided to buy a Camaro because I liked it better, it was simply a choice. Why do you have to constantly take shots at the Camaro? I would have no reason to go to a Mustang forum just to talk trash, what is your point? I think you have WAY to much time on your hands.
