I would take the car back to the dealer and make them buy it back. GM should and I believe they will do that. He will not be paid for his tag and taxes though but that might be a blessing because of the future problems he would have after it runs out of warranty. I cannot believe you do not think a car company should take the car back when it has all the problems he has said. It should be like any other company that is big business and that is if your product you sell turns out to be "lemon" they should replace it. Now, if he just had a issue with one thing that is different but the others are not good. If he does not have a sour taste about the ZL1 he just might go buy another one.

Other than damaged tires I haven't seen any documented problem with this car. Something wrong with a seat, what? Radiator replaced, no reason why? Tranny noise, very subjective, still no diagnosis? USB was probably no big fix. So I say again, damaged tires and vague non-diagnosed other problems. No reason to buy back a car.

Well I believe it was 2002 when Chevy came out with the duramax and allison tranny. I ordered a new 1 ton crew cab 4wd drive with the duramax and allison in it. I had so much trouble with that truck and the tranny being the biggest problem. Gm replaced the tranny with a new one that they shipped to the dealer{this was after 3 times to the dealer} and they put that one in. After I got it back within 50 miles it was doing the same thing. I had the bed rhino lined and had a turnover hitch in it.I took it back to the dealer and parked it outside and told them I wanted my money back. About two weeks later some woman called me and told me they would pay me back what I payed for the truck but the tag and taxes and the extras I did to the truck were lost. About 3 months later a chevy dealer called me and asked if he could give my phone number to a customer who was looking to buy the truck. I explained it was a buy back truck and the problems it had and he told me he was going to tell his customer he could not find a number for me. So GM will buy them back if there are problems with the vehicle.

Lemon Law covers vehicles that have had the same problem 3 times without resolution. You had the trans replaced and it failed again, so that was 2 for you and I could see a buy back. But the OP's car has yet to have any attempt made yet to fix it. At this point it's just a noise, but not diagnosed yet. It may be as simple as a $20 u-joint.

And I have yet to see why the radiator needed replacement.

Actually reading that again you made 3 trips then replaced trans then failed again. So 5 attempts to fix it. Yes, of course they bought it back.

I believe he said his HUD is not working correctly either. That sounds like electrical problems also. With that and the radiator, seat and whatever else may be wrong it sounds like he has a car that has alot of repairs to be made. I guess if they correct all of these and something else goes wrong then I would say park the son of bitch right in front of the showroom and walk in and give them the keys and tell them to shove it up there ass! I know I would

Hello to everyone, new on here..I traded in my 2011 Shelby GT500 for a 2013 ZL1 Convertible, love the car, a lot more car than the Shelby, to me anyway....But wow the problems I seem to be having and I am at 2k miles.
1. Since day one I have had a SERVICE SUSPENSION SYSTEM on in the dash, been in the shop 4 times, can't seem to find the problem, and now a check engine light is on, OnStar came on and said it was an issue with the exhaust, I have a 6th appointment on Tuesday, we will see what happens, but other than that....what a car, love it...Mod's coming soon..

Okay here is the deal based on what I was just told.

They are telling me that the Ring & Pinion are out 15 thousandth or so..... And they will have to replace the shims.

Now I have heard that is caused from basically dumping the clutch at high RPM's. If that is true or not IDK I am not a mechanic.

If they would have shown me the tires they replaced instead of refusing I would have a piece of mind here, but since they were conveniently gone the same day, and the noise was definitely an issue.... why didn't they adjust the shims instead of replacing them and non of this started until after the 30 road test (joyride). I will definitely be back there tomorrow and they can buy it back like suggested or they can replace it with a new one. The issues are only going to continue.

The radiator had to be replaced because they told me a rock the size of a pencil eraser hit it! I still have an issue with that...Kind of a hard thing to pull off with all the stuff around it and it missed the condenser. this happened the day after I got it back from the tires being replaced! Someone was romping the shit out of the car. I can't think of any other reason based on the turn of events. It does not make any sense

I guess we will see how it goes!
I have seen it happen before and I also know that if it was a BMW or an Audi it would definitely get replaced

Good Luck. I would try multiple dealers too. My closest dealer is filled with the scum of the earth and I would never go to them for anything again.
