I think the results of the muffler deletes are coming in mixed. I had mine cut off last week and the sound and performance are wonderful. I do not have any dyno's to prove it but I think it is less sluggish out of the blocks than it used to be and sounds great at high revs. Now my friends hear me coming before they see me. Woot!!

Im a strong believer in u pay for what u get. U want sound and add plenty of horsepower buy a set of 1-7/8" longtube headers with cats and a magnaflow or corsa catback exhaust system with an X-pipe. Also a CAI with a custom dynotune. Do not do a half ass muffler delete on a $30,000+ American Muscle Car

Back pressure with muffler delete is a myth. I ran a 13.3, my fastest time ever, with my muffler delete. Before I got the muffler delete I couldn't even get under 13.5, then I ran 13.3-13.4 all night.

guys,
there are a ton of threads on this topic from over a year ago.

when i first got my car, i did a muffler delete. now bad gas might have made it lose power, search "fuse pull" or " battery disconnect

it lost no power doing the muffler delete

well, i did it. the car sounds AWESOME !!!! i took off the mufflers and replaced the H pipe with a magnaflow X pipe. The car sounds excellent. It's not obnoxious at all. Now it sounds like a muscle car, kinda like a speed boat, gargles and pops a little bit but it's not annoying at all (i guess that part is a matter of personal preference). best 300 bucks i've spent on this car yet.

just had mufflers deleted this morning.....sounds ALOT better... havent noticed any loss in power though.... the big suit cases are straight through pipes with perforations for sound. i sent a camera down them and thats all i saw... so as far as backpressure, i think that happens in the resonator...not the mufflers... thats my .02 cents
