Just ordered the Moroso from Jannetty. Hoping to get it in time to install it before Fast Friday at a local drag strip next Friday night.

Craftsman is an easy install. Still some fine tuning to do.

The oil collected is after 40 miles.

That's quite interesting so I did a quick search on the product and found that the plastic breaks too easily, to put that on your car under the hood (where it's alot hotter than using with an air compressor) when your plastic breaks your going to have a very messy engine bay. Very nicely saying that I suggest taking that off of your car.

Does something like the Craftsman which is meant to trap water on an air compressor work when trying to trap oil instead?
Just curious.....

I prefer the Elite Engineering catch can. The driver side bracket is nice if you have an aftermarket intake system that does not utilize the stock airbox stud.

I should also mention, there is NO wait on the Elite Engineering catch cans.

Feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions.

Best regards,

Understood, you have to be careful about that. But it does work, especially on an experiemental basis. It is rated for 150 psi and 125F. Usually that means 125F and 150 psi at the same time so the temperature rating is higher at atmospheric pressure. Most plastic will take around 180F or more. BTW, there are numerous plastic parts in the existing system.

It is also interesting to note that the Mishimoto can is configured just like the Craftsman can.

I will let you know when it blows apart. Hopefully my RX can will arrive before then.

It's not the fact it's plastic, it's the type plastic used. All the plastics used in engine compartments are designed specificly for that environment. It gets much hotter in the engine compartment than 125 degrees for extended periods of time. Also it's designed for pressure and you are subjecting it to a vacuum. If the plastic is not designed for that along with the heat factor it can break down over time and become brittle. I would check it often for any cracking. It may be fine but if not designed for automotive use I would be careful.

^^ Good call. I check it after every drive. This isn't something you can install and ignore for sure. We'll see how well it holds up. Espcially if RX doesn't hurry up and get my can here.

BTW, if anyone wants one of these, Sears has them online for $16.99.

Fore sure, thats a nice cool spot, but I am not sure I like the long hose runs.
I think my craftsman can is in a cool spot too, but I need to do more temperature profiles.
