My husband said something about trading in my 2002 Highlander for the 2SS. I said, "no way is my Camaro going to see road salt and besides my Highlander is great in snow." I feel very fortunate to be at a point in my life when I can afford to have 2 cars.

I'm driving mine! Got my 18" Blizzaks complete with rims, sensors, & shipping from Tire Rack <$1400 total. Not gonna lie though -- hoping for a mild winter!

I'll be driving mine in Ohio. I have a set of 19's w/ the all seasons I'm gonna throw on and hope for the best. Why pay so much money for a nice car and not use it?

I can afford to buy a beater, but I don't want to. I want a nice dependable car to drive in the winter (which would be the worst time to break down and be stranded somewhere). I bought the Pirelli Scorpion Ice and snow tires once the weather started getting down in the 30s and 40s at night (summer tires really do lose traction in colder weather). See http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51061 for pics.

I'm driving mine. I just got my 2012 this past spring. Coming up will be my first winter with it. I live near Rochester NY so I know how to drive in the snow. I'll gently throw a couple of sand bags in the trunk and throw on my 18" snow tires I bought off Craigs List (20's on there for summer). Just like driving a pick-up. Would I like to keep it off the roads during winter? Yes. But I cannot afford a second car for this. My Camero is a tool. A pretty damn nice tool. So I'm going to use it. LOL!

1.2 miles off Lake Erie and I can only afford one car. RS package summer tires. If it get bad enough I'll replace the tires, probably not. I drive with my other head.

Holy thread necro, Batman! But yeah, if I had the V6, I would drive it all year, even in our winters. I know plenty of folks around here that drive theirs all year round with no issues. Most of them bought the V6 specifically because it's a Camaro that drives well in the snow. I don't know a single person, however, with a V8 that does this, though, so I couldn't commit myself to giving it a try.
I ended up picking up a 2010 GMC work truck for the winter. Worth it to me to drive a beater-ish vehicle in the winter as long as I get summers with my baby. Plus, in Alaska, you just plain need a truck at some point. |
