I stopped by my favorite dealer dealer yesterday and they had a beautiful, brand new 2014 Red Rock Metallic convertible sitting on the showroom floor. As I'm studying it, one of the saleswomen approaches me and asks "do you like it?". I responded with a convincing "yes, but I'm not too sure about the tail lights."

As I proceeded to check out the interior I noticed what appeared to be golf tees laying on the driver's seat. Somewhat puzzled, I asked her "what are these here for?" to which she responded (with a naughty smile) "that's what you put your balls on when you're driving." "Damn!", I exclaimed, "That's ingenious! GM thinks of everything!"

Thanks, I was specifically asking about the 2014's front end, but as you say, it is quite different, just takes a bit more to notice than the mailslot. Also it seems that the SS's all have the hood inserts.

That is what I am talking about. The whole front of the 14 is different from an SS to a V6. To me it stands out more then the mailslot.

wow, you all got it wrong. It is an SS with a V6 frontend and hood. he did the brake swap because he wanted a 'sleeper' on the dragstrip. geesh you people, always jumping to the wrong conclusion!

The 2LT RS has the fog lights. The Halos are bigger and now the day time running lights. The ZL1 is the only model not getting the new front end. SS has vents in hood and is only thing besides badges that sets it apart visually. I have the 2014 2LT RS with dual mode exhaust with fuse pulled, and K&N cold air intake. Think it sounds better than my 2010 SS. Color HUD and driver info center is easier to see on bright days. Mylink system with backup monitor and navigation is hell of a lot better than the old stereo and using onstar.

And the silly thing is for the price of this car (looks to be around $37000) they could have gotten a legit SS if they wanted to rather than posing! Or maybe it's not really a convertible or an RS either?
