The bottom line is, there are a lot of engines out there and we build all kinds of displacements and configurations at our plant as well as at the other GM Powertrain Facilities. I imagine that the engine combinations for the Camaro will be a closely guarded secrete up until the release of the car. What I can tell you is, I have all the faith in the world that we will not be disappointed. My own opinion is, there will be something for everyone!

Anyways, he says Scott said they don't work together. But obviously Scott didn't say it was impossible, because he didn't post that he was assured it'd never work. Which leaves my theory to be plausable. ![]() Oh, and let's make that an imaginary tank of gas, huh? I don't know what the price will be when we find out this juicy info! ![]() Quote:

This would be rediculous...And I'm with Dragon on getting the LS3 (at least that's what I'm wishing for)...Also, with the information about the L76 being specific to cars manufactured in Australia, the LS3 is making more and more sense. I don't know enough about engines to talk intelligently about DOD/AFM...whatever you want to call it...I'll be completely honest, though, in saying that if DOD/AFM isn't possible in the LS3 paired with a manual trans. then...I don't care one bit. The only way that I would actually like DOD/AFM is if it would only activate when sixth gear was engaged. I wonder how that could work...Anyway...I'm tired and I'm sorry if my thoughts are not entirely coherent.

Yeah; I forgot the L76 is an Autralian engine. I stand by LS3 as a base V8 engine. I think it's possible that Camaro can get high teens in the city and high 20s on the freeway, so I don't know that AFM/VVT will be necessary; they would just add to the complexity of the engine. I think the trucks need these more than the cars do because of their weight, and what-not.

Isn't the L76 made in Mexico though? Used in aussie cars sure. but that doesn't have much to do with anything
