Lol, no. Things are just getting steadily busier and we have decided to wait until things slow down this winter to push further on our product development projects.

I've thought about a solution to the tap shift location and have decided to do some research to see if the shifter that was used on my CTS could be adapted to the Camaro. It is very similar to the Camaro shifter except to access manual shifting you move the shifter right and back, like you are shifting a manual. Once in this position you nudge the shifter forward for up-shift, back for down-shift. I still drive the Camaro with my hand on the shifter, seems more natural than on the wheel, especially when cornering.

I prefer paddles, not the dual gate. It's a lot better for cornering, especially the tight ones.

If I got you right, it is similar to the Challenger "Auto-Stick". I test drove that, and prefer over the paddle shift. Would be cool for a conversion like you say.

Hi all. I have been recieving a lot of e-mails on my new shifter with tap shift. I am currently refinning it and will hopefully be ready to offer them to those interested in the near future.(about two weeks) I will keep everyone informed on my progress. For those not familiar with it there is a post entitled " L99 shifter with tap shift" so you can check out the prototype. The ones I will be offering have some slight cosmetic changes and refinements. Thanks George

bump. Rodius Prime, the buttons simply pop out? I'm scared to try. lol I'm going to CNC some aluminum close to your design. If anyone likes the final product I'll sell some. Quality is my #1 concern so buying from me should be stress/worry-free.

Or maybe at minium just reverse the + and - so I could shift up with my left.

Hi all, now that I have completed installation instructions here are is link that cover discussions, option, pics and instructions. I hope you find it informative, thanks, George L99 shifter with tap shift

Agreed... I'm super happy with the stock tap shifters. IMO, anything else would be adding clutter or a bit of a distraction. Hats off to the Chevy Camaro team for the design and functionality!!

Would anyone be interested in a kit where you could supply your own switches?

I've also been playing with two complete versions. One is simply hand-held, and the other is shifter-mounted (on side). I can also see doing them as trigger switches (front of shifter).

Hey there, you know there is a guy on this web site that has designed a shifter that takes place of your stock shifter with the switches built in. It is called the L99 Shifter with Tap Shift. I purchased one a few months back and love it. I see others on this site have also purchased and have nothing but high reviews about it. CFD is his screen name you should check him out. It sounds from your thread that yours is just hand held with the buttons why not post some pictures so we can see where you are going with this kind of peaking my couriousity.

Yup, I saw his stuff. More options are always better!

Hand-held is just one version.

Here's a pic of the switch grafted onto the stock shifter for testing. I need to find a knob that will work for both side and front mount. The "trigger" setup (front mount) feels like it would be nice!
