Exactly. Instead of seeing a new customer as a chance to win someone over and make them a return customer, lets treat them badly and half ass the work to their car and reinforce their misgivings about dealerships.

Needless to say you should go to a reputable tire store and have them check the balance of your wheels and not return to that stealership.

sounds like they had some new guy doing the tires, not uncommon to see new people struggle with tires of this size but 4hrs is too long. My guess is they were waiting for the tires to be delivered from another shop. My advice is always to find a tech you like and trust and stay with them, be it the dealer or another shop.

UPDATE, before I got my tires, my oil was changed. (Btw the reason I get work done at dealerships are because I just had a super good deal on tires.) A light came on today that said oil level low, I checked the dipstick and I immediately put oil in the car (was missing 3 quarts!). About an hour ago the car went on a lift and I found out my filter has been leaking oil. But when I got my oil change 3 weeks ago, I put the car on the lift two days after and there were no leaks. It looks like the filter was tampered with, it wasn't loose but the seal was almost gone. Its kind of interesting how both the wheel weights and oil filter incidents happened right after the dealership and both can lead to my car being destroyed. A point I will bring up when I meet with the supervisor at the dealership.

I'm sure they were crushed by your departure.

Customers are fickle and owe no one their business. You have to earn it. Businesses who prey on the uninformed generally don't survive in the long haul, which puts their employees out of work. Good luck with that.

When removing the old tire, the valve on the back of the sensor is frequently broken, but the cost to repair the sensor is only a few dollars.

And honestly about the whole who would replace tires at a "stealership" there's a lot of people like you who will bring there cars in for some free shit they feel is entitled to them because they bought a car there 3 years ago and haven't been back sense and we'll tell em them need tires, "oh no, I know a guy who can get me a better deal" hahahaha oooook. It would be great to let us know what dealership you are at to avoid taking cars there. Reading this did nothing but solidify why people hate taking their cars to dealerships. What if my car never has issues outside of warranty items or basic oil changes? Then i get treated like crap and my car not taken care of because of some pathetic F*** in the back who thinks its not his job to do what hes getting paid for on my car?? Check this out...If I'm putting myself in debt or taking a major chunk out of my savings from my hard earned money to buy a car from a dealer then I expect to have my car and my needs taken care of. Low key about this one. This is why I now do as much of the work I can myself in the garage because of people like this.

Not a shot directly at beastmode here but anyone who is thinking like that in general when dealing with other people's property they work hard to maintain and are proud of.

Well my dealer did beat all the local tire shops on tires for my Wifes KIA. And by about $20 a tire.

Also they do an oil change and 4 tire rotation for $29.99 and don't try to jam air filters and other add ons down my throat like the quick change places. Now I know on my SS they don't rotate the tires but on the 2LT I had it was a sweet deal.

And yes everyone should in theory be treated the same no matter how much they spend at a place of business. But if you are a loyal customer and spend a lot of money somewhere I think most of you EXPECT something in return.

For example you frequent the local independent Sporting Goods store and you spend a few grand in there over the course of a year. They know you by name and listen to your stories for a half an hour when you come in. A product you bought you tried it and didn't like it. You don't have the package or the slip. I'm sure a lot of people would go "Well I spend a S--t load of money in there they better take care of me on this!" And they probably would because you're a good customer.

With someone's theory of everyone should receive the same treatment that wouldn't happen.

So just remember if your a PITA everyone..and I mean EVERYONE in the business knows. We talk about you for years and tell your story over and over. We draw straws to see who gets to wait on you.

On the other hand good customers who show respect we bend over backwards for. Drive 30 miles on our day off when the store is closed and fix you up with what you need because you had a death in the family, call our wives and say we will be home late because one of our good customers has a problem we gotta fix for them. Slip a card in their bag with a little something in it for their daughters graduation.

It's as old as dirt but it stands true:

Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.

me too. never understood why people go back for routine stuff. you pay more, wait longer, and usually get worse service. not to mention the hard sell on all those things they found in their 120 point inspection that really should be done. I know some people get some of that stuff free, but they only do that so they can try to sell you a million other things every time you come in for you free oil change, or rotation, or whatever.

so basically what your saying is that someone who brings their car in for warranty work, work GM is paying you to do because of a defective something, and they haven't been in for anything else your going to act like ass's? and you wonder why people feel like they do about dealerships.

I'm the nicest guy in the world and show tons of respect, thanking them for doing their job etc., right up until something stupid comes out of that persons mouth. Then I make it perfectly clear to them how ignorant their view is and why they really want to do it my way. If they want to be stubborn, I engage whatever resources are necessary to make that company do right. I have not always been successful, but I don't do business with those places either. They probably don't care, but if there enough people like me, and there are, it will be their loss. The average satisfied customer tells three people about their experience. The average dissatisfied customer tells 11.

I have customers myself that I hate to hear from because they are never satisfied, but I know my company depends those revenue streams, so I suck it up and make them as happy as I can. Very rarely does someone go over my head, but even if they do, I don't hold it against them. They are trying to do best by the company, and in my case patients, they work for.
