I sure hope those $4000 wheels aren't steel. I don't think that aluminum would rust no matter how long ago the "curbing" was.

Wow I'm really blind! Of course some people think that my splash guards are ugly so I guess it's a case of different strokes.

Their insurance will, if he did the right thing. Call police immediately, have the carwash staff fill out their insurance info.

My wife used a carwash that came in too far and hit my wifes car. Caused 1k damage. Guess who paid?

according to chevy.com they are aluminum, and so i dont see how they would rust. This makes the OPs case for the rust rubbing of the latch system a lot more solid. it seems like if something was diggin into the metal you would feel it, maybe not, idk

haha im with you on the wheels beauty, and the splash guards are allright, dont hate them, but dont love them.

A. So go buy a cheap short hose. Thats what I did at my apt complex I used to live at. Someone jacked the hose so i went and got my own.
B. Didn't you JUST say theres one in your complex?
C. If you notice I edited my post as you were posting b/c i noticed it was the same side. Hey, I wasnt there, I dont know what you hit.
D. I don't think. I think they are too big, a funny design and are WAY over priced. Sorry. Hey, some people don't like my h/h stripes. Whatever.

AND GET THIS>... IM NOT SAYING THE BRUSHES DAMAGED IT... there is a locking mechanism on this car wash that locks the wheels in so it doesnt roll i believe... somehow these things did not attach correctly to the right side im pretty sure... because my left rims are both fine... and only a machine could make the EXACT same type of UNIQUEEEE damage on 2 DIFFERENT rims...
I totally agree, not curb rash. Its from the wash somehow.

LOL, I wouldn't know I haven't experienced the creeky top yet. It's been pretty quite. But then again I've only put 200 miles on it. I haven't even driven it to work yet.

Hopefully you wont but when you do, when stopped... (I hope that goes without saying but I just had to say that so you don't sue me if you do something stupid!)... unlatch the front two latches but not the back and reseat the top. It will stop it, for a while. Mine did it once in a while.

I know GM has a TSB out on the tops. Supposed to replace the latches. I don't think mine are affected though. I have solid top, I hear the glass ones are more prone to it. What year do you have.
