Searched that cam prior to me making the decision, still no.

Cam that doesn't require a tune???? I think they call that stock!
Seriously why in the world would a person cam a car and not tune it? If the cam is anything other than OEM, you would be producing less power.

Not even sure why I am wasting my time replying to this post. I mean seriously "Cams" did he put two in there? Or did he go ahead and install 3 in case one of the first two was a Comp Cam that failed? Maybe he installed his cams in the trunk. That is the only place to install one without a tune.

Are you sure he didn't install a CAI and headers without a tune?

I would not consider this cam for a DD. Requires a stall. Gives up way to much power in the lower RPM's.

I always thought stall/torque converters were a must with cams?

Well not an actual requirement as far as build goes, but everyone always says to get a stall with a cam?

I started to go back and edit... It is possible if the car is a V6 that the guy did put Cam's in a car... But then this is the V8 section.... And who would put 4 new cams in a v6 without a tune.
But then no tune!! Kinda like saying hey I got new tires and re-used my old air!

Ok I have de-railed this thread enough.
As I stated before the SS1 cam and tune, tune being the key part, was the best mod I have done to a car. My only regret is that I have now gone FI, and wish I had a different cam that would put some lope back in the idle. I am glad the OP is looking at a cam... He has done it before and knows inside that he wants to do it again. He just needs a little help from us re-assuring him that it is worth it again. It is a muscle car, it should have come from the factory with a more aggressive cam (epa regulations take all the fun out of everything don't they.) I think for a DD a mild cam that does not require all of the extras is alot of fun. It lets everyone around you at a stoplight know... the car is not stock, not to mention the smile on your face at every startup... especially when a fellow owner starts theirs up in a parking lot, and you go ahead and remote start yours just to make a point!

I did the SS1 without a stall.. the SS2 can be done without a converter, but is not recommended. I am sure I would be faster at the track with a stall. The car "did" push a little at stoplights (LSA conversion now, and unfortunately it has smoothed the cam out.) It all depends on how aggressive a grind you get, and how good your tuner is.
