40 isn't bad for 295's. The stock set are 275/40 and yes, the wider the tire, the more sidewall when you compare. I wouldn't go 305/40... that would be too much for sure. 305/35 and 315/35 are what you want if you go more than 295.

A 295/35 will have a more low profile look and probably look better imo when a 295/40 will have more of a thicker muscle car look. At 295 you're good either way. Its what you prefer.

The NT555 G2's have a very nice side profile I must add.

Mickey Thompson are better at the track but wear to quick for street driving. Not good in the rain. Also with big hp i can see how the Mickeys are better. But for my power and casual track time Nittos are my choice.

You SMOKED that Rustang Ron!!!!

We had a few races that night.....some were alot closer some were not. Last race of the night i broke loose on the 2nd to 3rd shift and he just edged me out. Thats a buddy of mine and he can really drive....that Mustang is a handful launching on street tires. He will be.....according to him...tuned with headers and Nitto 555r like the ones ive ordered so it will be a good summer of racing . That car is cai and exhaust only and trapped 113mph by the end of the night. Dont worry i think you will be posting vids of you in that vert soon.

Unless you are going for top speed.

A lot of people think rotational mass = rotational mass. But they fail to realize the farther from the center of rotation the mass is, the more energy it takes to rotate that mass and the slower it is to respond. Acceleration or braking.

You want the 315/35 to match the OEM diameter. It's still more mass than the 275/40 but at least it is as close to the center as the OEMs.
I'm on stock rims. Can't do 315's. And the tires size I am looking at is 295. It is only something like 2/3 of an inch taller. 295/35/20 is actually shorter than stock by a small amount. At least in the tire brand I was looking at.

Do you happen to know what is the widest we can go on stock 2010 SS rims in the FRONT? I don't want rubbing when on full lock if possible.

I don't track my car ever, it is basically my daily driver, lots of highway miles.

Not sure on the widest for the front, but I know many go with a 275 all around, so 275's at LEAST can fit.

EDIT: Camaro 1LEs come with 285's all around so....
