People wanted to compare the SRT8 to the other two, so thats what MT did. They did it based on relative HP ratings, not cost.

i dont care. i like the camaro looks over mustang. also ford has been building the mustangs for i don't know how long. obviously every year camaro was eating them up. so now they decided to put a new engine in there car and beat us with a smaller engine. remember chevy is using the vett motor. no new motor yes low hp for that big of a motor but they need to tune it. look at the z06 505hp. same motor in our car just tuned down. (well i think it is) so tune ours up to 505hp and lets hit the track.
i give ford props for coming back. just more reason for chevy to jump on the wagon. chevy stoped in 2001 i think and for was the best till 2010. but ford was also working on the new motor that surprised us. give chevy time it is a new car and they saw how well it was doing and we know there not going to let a little pony a%% chicks car take us out.

are you aware that the test was ran with ford having a new engine that has been in the plans for who knows how long and dodge submits the srt8 model and gm is expected to just have something to throw to the table? Camaro also won the 2010 World Car Design of the Year Award, so its been proven that it is an iconic car. I could really care who wins in these tests, not a big deal, but i love my car. I feel lucky that gm considered bringing it back.

Cudo's to Ford and the Ford fans should be extremely happy that they now have some competition. Without it perhaps Ford would have done nothing as far as improving the performance of the GT.

As for the review, I really have a hard time taking anything a car rag has to say about any car seriously, they're worse than politicians. Who knows what may or may not be influencing a magazine's opinion that relies on advertising to pay for the majority of its existence. Performance wise, the three are pretty close and as for the appearance of each car, well beauty is in the eye of the beholder and a pretty subjective matter. At the end of the day, this doesn't change my "opinion" one bit, for me I still made the right choice and would do it again today in a heart beat.

i love how motor trend keeps changing there idea on the camaro. First it was in second now third... and Imagen that the mustang gets first again. And to todd03blown chevy is keeping this info a secret holding onto it like its there first born. I would like to see the changes to both the camaro and the challenger. I love all three cars, based on looks the challenger wins the old look but on new look camaro. On sound i love the 2011 mustang stock sound, but i love my quite camaro for just that reason its quite. On performance idc i got just what i needed out of my car i dont need a drag car to get to work with everyday. All are great cars but face it ford you wouldn't have done the 5.0 if it wasn't for the camaro. I dont understnad this im better then you fights that break out. WE ALL HAVE GREAT CARS. Just my 2 cents.

On paper it looks like the Mustang wins all around with 0-60 and weight and so on .

3.73's for gears hahahahaha wow they just put everything in this car like this is what all folks are going to buy lol

Gm put a very realistic Car meaning a car that most all people bought.
Not everyone will buy 3.73's lol

I believe SRTs come stock with shorty headers as well.

True. And the SRTs some with shortys stock as well.

You really need long tubes to see large gains.

Clam shell type, yes.

Thats why you see more SRT8's running LT's vs ST's, you wont see much, if any, gain from stock.

Most R/T's run ST's and see alot of gain because the R/T's cast, stock exhaust manifold is basically as good as an a**hole on my elbow.

It's moot because it's 2011 vs 2010 vs 2010. That said, it's nice to see a GT being competitive and hopefully will push GM to answer. In the test that matters, 2010 vs 2010, the Camaro is King. Will it remain the King when the 2011 come out? That remains to be seen. Hopefully GM's silence is misleading, lol, and means something good is heading the Camaro's way in 2011.

In 2010, no. In 2011????? 2010 the Camaro is King, no doubt there. Since Ford is first out with the 11, the reign is still in dispute. When GM announces the 2011 MY, then we'll know!!

Now 2010 Camaro vs 2011 Mustang as equals? I think that downplays the Mustang a bit, but it's fairly close. Not much is going to be needed to maintain status quo IMO. But what GM does to maintain that remains to be seen.
