thanks..i miss it. but honestly man, that 1400 had no need of extra hp at all for the 200 club...all the removal of the sec butterflies did was eliminate the low RPM choke that Kawi put on it...to try to make it more friendly to ride in the city due to the tremendous torque... those didn't open completely until you pass the 5000rpm mark. im sure the M4's added a little more grunt but not a whole lot. it was just a complete beast. i put 18,000 miles on it and im sorry it's gone, but hey...i got a Camaro my favorite thing was to take it up to the Tennesse Smoky Mountains to the Tail of the Dragon (Deals Gap). I will sorely miss those times.

It's just rude (and insanely bad form) to start a reply with "you need to educate yourself"...thats how rude people and young people behave.

140 is crazy. Not sure why anyone would want to go that fast on a highway never mind a back road. Too many factors you cant control at that speed. Your asking for an accident or worse killing someone innocent.

Being in Law Enforcement I see people all the time who make stupid decisions and end up facing huge consequences and leaving disaster in their wake. At the end of the day he made a decision that cost him his life and his family many years of grief. I am glad the passenger was Ok if theres a silver lining its that and the fact it may make people reading this will think twice of doing stupid shit in their cars

That is such a sad story :/

I'm glad the 0-60 is what gets me goin.. unlike some of these guys that just want to go as fast as possible.

guess I like torque more than speed!

The good news is I like your car so it doesn't matter.

Think we just misunderstood each other is all.

I got mine on a straightaway on I-75 and got her to 119..but that's with 4 lanes empty for approx 1/2 mile...Admittedly, it was FUN, and she was capable of doing MUCH faster..But would this accident scaldedchevy describes have happened if the engine was governed at say 70 mph?

SURE, it takes away the fun factor, but saves lives..There is NO practical purpose for allowing a car to go that fast.

Many lives are not worth saving. We let these people remove themselves from the gene pool.

The real question, is why not faster!

My question is, why not require stricter licensing for vehicles? Why not REQUIRE people take defensive driving classes?

The number of people with cars capable of killing them is damned near 100%.

I had a friend die doing 55 on an interstate, had to do an emergency lane change and it rolled.

Would that have happened had it been governed at 45?

This desire to be nannied bothers the hell out of me.

If I want to kill myself goddammit that's my choice. If my passenger wants to ride with me, that is theirs.

My thoughts are simply if you govern the cars to 70 or what ever is considered safe, you are bowing to the lowest common denominator. If you are going to limit the speed cars can go, you'll also need to remove the radio, bluetooth, DVD players, gaming systems and disable any cell phones when they enter the car, also make all cars automatic so there are a minimum amount of distractions.

People are going to make bad choices sometimes and some of those choices can't be taken back. I don't think that means that I should have my choices taken away.

I am very sorry to hear about the wreck, my heart not only goes out to his family but to the people who had to respond and experience the aftermath.
