Is it possible the speakers are being replaced with the same one in case they were damaged by the higher output amp?
I was told that the amp were replaced to match the new speakers which have better surrounds.

Just go aftermarket, the BA isn't worth the trouble.

I just got this "fix" on Friday. DO NOT DO THIS! I can not believe that GM is removing ALL the bass from the front speakers. The new speakers still distort at a volume over 22, only now there is no bass to help mask the terrible sound. Total garbage. Lets hope this isn't the final "fix", otherwise that $$$ spent on this system was wasted. I'll be replacing the replacement parts shortly.

Sorry to hear that. This is exactly what I was afraid they would do. I would complain to the dealer and GM.

I got a higher VIN, so I'm out. I think the BA sounds like crap. Harman Kardon in my wife's Beemer is crystal clear. But, my loud ass pipes rock!!!

I've never heard a stock system in any car that didn't sound like crap maxed out!

I'd bet money they put the newer lesser powered amp in to 'fix' the issue.
