Lots of badass Fox bodies at the track here in Orlando. One is pink with a picture of the pink panther. Ugliest car ever (sorry if you happen to read this forum) but don't let the looks fool you because that thing is seriously mean and very fast.

Actually the problem was people not using the launch control, a LOT.

Nissan gave people the option to use it, but it was supposed to be a VERY SPARINGLY used thing. People were launching them all the time, and crapping out transmissions.

When not abused, the transmissions are actually technical marvels and very robust stunning creations.

When using launch control a lot, not so much. Which is why nissan just took Launch Control off for 2010, it just wasn't worth it.

Oh and btw that statement about AWD cars bogging at the line isn't very accurate with newer, smarter, AWD. Where as much of the power as can be used goes to the rear wheels and the front wheels kick in when needed.

well thats a totally different thing.. if that was the case rear tires would spin less stress on tranny and they wouldnt brake..
I said they bog because if u take off at low rpm not wanting to pop the clutch to damager tranny u bog.. a rwd car would do same if u launch too easy..

of course its true its not 100% thing. if wanted u can rev high and release clutch slowly which will launch good, put less stress on tranny but will wear clutch out early.. better clutch then tranny though

always the problem with AWD.. ive seen alot of subarus break things in the drivetrain at the drag strip...
u know when its comin too. When u get the guy bouncing it off redline then just pops the clutch.. ouch..

Traction is a wonderful but expensive thing. It will definitely find the weak points in the drivetrain.

That's not so stupid of an idea. Look up the Boss Hoss. 502 motor on a motorcycle, (know someone who has one with NOS included). Now that's death.
