NOVA area performance shops? - Page 4 - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I too wish we had a good, reliable and reasonably-priced LSx-based shop here in central VA. Georgia has Vengeance, MTI Racing, HPS, APR and others; Texas has TSP, ADM, ETMC, SNL Performance, 510 Race Engineering and others; there's also Speed, Inc., CC Performance (OR), Livernois (MI), Torq and Lashway Motorsports (FL), RPM-Motorsports (NC), Heintz Racing (NC), Hendrix-Engineering (NC), VA Speed (VA Bch), TandT Performance (MD), to name a few across the country.

It's sad the capital of VA doesn't have a decent speed shop that's reasonably priced and performs quality work. If we had a shop here that offered the same quality and prices as some I've listed they'd certainly have plenty of business (at least from me). I'm having to make a 6-10 hour round trip to get a combination of fair price, quality work and an appointment. I realize quality work usually requires paying premium prices but a torque converter and cooler isn't that hard and I'm not paying someone $1000 for that.

You are absolutely correct. Seems like every shop I've talked to around here wants to rape you on cost and only has an average reputation at best when it comes to performance. Not just the Camaro shops either. All the shops I needed to visit with my turbo G35 were ass too. Very depressing.

But on the other hand; it gives you an excuse to plan a pretty decent cruise out to one of the premier shops. And then have an even better cruise back with your newly installed toys!

Any reason no one has mentioned "Virgnia Speed"? I have no experience with them, nor have I heard anything good or bad about them; but I know they exist and noticed they haven't been mentioned. Anyone else know of any feedback?

I don't have any experience with VAS but PM silverfox. I think he's had like $100k of work done with them.

Va speed is a good shop. it never used to be when they first opened. but things have changed. they are a good shop with very knowledgeable employees. but they are pricey.
