Are you referring to the Pace Car or the GT500?

OK... The Camaro Indy is limited production and over time will hold or increase in value.. But you spent more for a Shelby GT 500 that will drop like a ton of bricks when you drive it off the lot..

You lost me on that one but to each his own

I paid $60k for it inc all taxes, to me it was a far better choice than the Camaro Indy 500 - not knocking the SS Camaro, just the Indy 500.

I personally preferred the Shelby GT 500 because it was far superior and far more feature packed than the Camaro. I am a GM fan through and through (or should say I WAS lol) but they really let me down with the spec & output on the Indy. It was clear to me that all GM did with the Indy was put stickers on it, cheap leather (not sure about the SS's quality of leather as I haven't been in one) which was already creased in the showroom (!) and no performance enhancements.

Memphis SS & Cuspid - The Delorean from Back To The Future was also a limited production car but that's not worth anything now so there's no telling the future on the Indy lol! Besides, I'm not concerened if it devalues to be honest , thankfully money is not an issue for me and it's something I'm looking to keep and do some work on in the future :-) The thing I would be more concerened about is GM needing a bail out more recently. Car isn't worth anything if the manufacturer isn't around for parts - just look at Rover in the UK :-) 30k GBP cars for less than 10k GBP because parts, servicing info, etc aren't available.

CamaroFan69 - You really want a pic of me in the car with proof of the date? Happy to do that but don't be upset when I post it - last chance.

Again, not knocking the Camaro just felt the Shelby GT 500 was a better choice for me.

I would think that the indy 500 would cost much more the $43,000. I didn't know that one could buy just one race.

.
Well you really having to pull one out of your rear when you use the Delorean as a reason for the car not to hold value..
I can make it a little easier for you how about the 1996 Grand Sport Corvette which had 1000 unit made. It is already showing gains in value and cost as much or more used as it did new in 1996 or the 40th ZR1 Corvette? Or the fact that they only made around 250 Indy Pace Car units..

As far as GM being around I guess you missed the part about 1st quarter profits of 865 million and the current trend of sales. I think with the money the US has put into GM and the current profits I would say they will be around for a long time. And with so many Cars on the road parts will not be hard to come by, even if they did stop production

Mustang is a nice car but I hope you had better reason to spend almost twice the money than Values off a Delorean or GM being around for parts.
