No car is a chick magnet unless the car matches the driver. Kind of like clothes a set of clothes won't look the same on everybody and will enhance some more than others

Rest assured the mornings I choose to drive my daughter to school it has never failed to turn into an oohing and ahing affair with every age group around the school bus stops and especially at the local high school. The first morning I entered the high school drop off area........ created a traffic jam as the high guys and gals rushed over for a better look. No one seemed to complain for the delay.....but the car certainly has a presence......anywhere I go! They love this car............you are right ...hooked for a generation or more!

Two kid stories for me. When I first brought mine home there was a kid on his bike at the first corner with a stop sign in my edition. When I came to a stop, the kid looks at my car and starts spinning both his hands in circles (wants a burnout). Another time I come around a corner onto Main Street and pass two kids, likely 12 or so also on bikes, who both drop their jaws while one points and the other starts pumping his fist!

For the adult story, I had the opportunity to take my Camaro for a lap on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway the day before this year's Indy 500 as part of a Camaro/Corvette owner appreciation day. Our caravan from my dealer, 7 Camaros and 1 Corvette, pass by a man who immediately bolts into his house. My dad and I figure he is going to tell others what he has just seen. The man comes racing back out of his house with his camera and starts taking pictures before we are out of sight. I will admit that his reaction was probably due to the fact that there were multiple Camaros all in a row, but what difference does that make!

This is great, and so true! The Transformers movie will last in the kids' minds. And the car is featured in so many driving games. Just like how us 30somethings have to have the toys we grew up with, the kids today will be driving these cars for years to come (assuming they stay together).

In the lot at my daughter's day care, I'll get a kid pointing and shouting "Bumblebee" even though mine's all black. I passed by three kids walking, and they all gave me the trucker "blow your horn" arm thing as I drove by. I naturally obliged.

Not so much a chick magnet though...although my daughter's best friend's mother really likes my car because growing up, her brother had an RS - can't remember the year.

Ok, I'll share my recent experience.

Our grandson came to visit my wife and I last weekend. He's 3 years old. I have the Flowmaster American Thunder cat back on my car, so you can hear the exhaust pretty good from the back seat. We drove my grandson around town while we had him, then drove him back down State Sunday afternoon to meet up with my daughter half way.

When my wife and I got home that evening, my daughter called to let us know they had made it home safe. She also told us my grandson kept saying...."Papa's Car...Vroooom" all the way home....lol.

I guess they're never too young........

I love the kid complements as well. Makes me appreciate being an owner that much more. I consider myself fortunate.

I have gotten the trucker horn move too - from a little kid the day I was bringing Cherry home from the "car hospital" LOL. I was so thrilled to have her back (even though it was only two days without her) and to see that kid on his bike get all excited and wave left me with an even bigger perma grin....

I had two other guys in SUV's smile and wave at me that night too - everyone appreciates a fine ride like this

But you forgot to mention the looks and gapes of all the people checking us out on Sunday in that caravan of 18 Camaros....

Oh, and I almost forgot - this past Friday I was meeting my parents and my grandfather for dinner at Chili's. So I'm driving along this back road that cuts off the highway to get to the shopping plaza, I pass by this bank (in the middle of nowhere) and there are two cops outside talking (why they are there is beyond me but...) and I see the one facing me stop talking, point at my car and he screams "NICE!" as I drive by.....hilarious!

Last week after work as I pulled into my neighborhood a young boy on a bicycle started to "race" me down the street from the stop sign. He was on the sidewalk and kept looking over his shoulder at me. Sure enough, he went off the sidewalk and wiped out. As I slowed down he jumped up and gave me a thumbs up. Sure made me smile.

Nice thread for except for all the posts that had to throw in mustang crap. What's that have to do with weather or not the camaro will be a classic. I agree with the op in his line of thinking that young people will decided if these cars deserve a spot along side the other great classics from days gone by. I do how ever thing times are completely different than before ,and any car like the camaro will have a hard time keeping any real staying power. I guess only time will tell.

1) One week after getting my car, I turned the corner at a traffic light. The guy stopped at the light at the cross street was checking out the car, but his young son in the passenger seat was practically jumping out of his seatbelt, pointing at me and waving. In reading his lips, it was clear the words were "Bumblebee." I pointed to him and waved back.

2) At Starbucks, two boys (5 and 7) stood along the wrought iron fence next next to the driveup. As my car pulls up, the little one says "do you like your car?" I say "I love my car - who does she look like?" In unison, they both answer "Bumblebee!"

She's not even yellow, but these kids know THIS car - yeah, they'll never forget this car! The reactions are great and I never get tired of them.
