I really don't care how much HP the Mustang puts out...it just doesn't compare in features, quality and design to the new Camaro. I spent plenty of time hoonin' around in my friends '07 and I'm so over it. The interior alone is reason enough to pick Camaro.

let's see hmmm , the 2009 GT weighs 3480 p the 2010 SS weighs 3900 p + (auto) that's OVER 400 POUNDS more , very unlikely that the 2010 STANG will gain 400+ pounds since they are using the same platform as the 05 , get real
Let's be reasonable. They're refreshing the appearance, but they aren't really putting out anything we haven't seen. The interior is a huge improvement over the boring, cheap, and ugly mistake of 2005. The exterior is basically inspired by performance Mustangs already on the market. In other words, the GT500 became the GT. This isn't anything new. The weight difference is worthy of concern, but I feel that the Mustang lacks basic features, like IRS, that make the Camaro a superior car. In the area of performance, I can imagine that the weight helps, but buyers who try out the Camaro and Mustang will overwhelmingly point out that the Camaro is easier to drive or just feels better. You don't need to go for a test drive to see that the Mustang is underwhelming on paper in comparison. If you don't believe me, go for a test drive when they are both released.

even the cobalt SS is a better driving expirience than the GT

ford doesnt have some ace up their sleeve for this next stang. they are going to need a miracle just to move units this next year.

umm the camaro will still be faster because the GT will gain weight and wont increase its hp and tq enough to keep up with an ls3....simple as that. If you guys try to go up in hp you will end up like the gt500 3900lb and counting.

Whoever decided to bring back the retro mustang needs props, and Whoever decided to try to make them go faster is an IDIOT.

Shelby - 3900lbs+

Rousch - 4150lbs+

Saleen - who cares, its a Saleen.

I also want to add that we appreciate the Mustang's success here at Camaro5. If that retro car had not been successful, our car would not return. The issue is that the Mustang is not the market master anymore. The Challenger has delivered some serious bitch-slappage to the Mustang, and the Camaro will continue that trend. Until Ford releases something new, it will be the same Mustang. Comparing a 2009 Mustang with a 2005 Mustang is like comparing the Camaro Concept with the Camaro SS. They are the same basic car. There are small changes, and even the engine is different (LS2, LS3), but the performance is fundamentally the same, and they are both pretty sweet. A lot of you GT guys are getting mad that your territory is being dominated by other cars. We're not sorry. For Ford to compete in the marketplace, it has to compete, and that means improving old products to match or beat the competition. Sadly, Ford doesn't seem to prioritize the Mustang's performance on the same level that Dodge has prioritized the Challenger or Chevrolet has prioritized the Camaro.

if its a new gen dohc 4v then you can make the power from a lighter engine. don't count on 3900 lbs or anything close to that; it won't need the displacement in the 0-60 or even the quarter; after that the LS3 will pull because of the extra liter but don't think the mustang will fall behind if the DOHC 4V puts out 400 and some change, its just wishful thinking to think otherwise

the point was it can be fast and keep weight down; the only thing different with the 5.0 is that it will be N/A and even better
