Mustang almost revealed

Just 13 days till the new Mustang (and Chevy's biggest competition) is revealed. Anyone know how the 2010 model will stack up?

I'm hearing a 5.0L V8 (400 HP) which with a lower car weight should be competitive with the SS.

Also, I'm hearing a Twin-Turbo Ecoboost V6 (300 HP) for the lower model which would really hurt the LS/LT.

Any other opinions? Note: I'm buying an SS Camaro, so please keep fanboy comments to yourself and try to be neutral.

We've been hearing that for a while, but I think somebody said that there won't be any new engines until the 2011MY.
They'll probably throw a cold-air kit into the GT giving it around 320 hp
The six will stay the same.
And I think they'll offer a six speed, but no 5.0L or ecoboost yet...at least that's what I heard.

No new engines until 2011.

I'm pretty sure the 5.0L and Ecoboost will happen. The only uncertainty with these motors is their specific power output.

I'm excited about the competition, but it is clearly not a match yet. I want to see Ford's new engines in 2011.

Should be interesting . .I have also heard MY2011 for the engine changes ... looking forward to see what the 5 liter can do ... u wonder why they stuck w/ the 5.0 and not on to a N/A 5.4L ?

I hear there going to offer some trick track suspension packages, and the good changes are coming in 2011.

I was told to wait till the 2011 mustangs come out before I bought a camaro as they are going to be really trick. (However I believe they are keeping the live axle rear end, which is the deal breaker for me).

Econoboost engine is going to have amazing potential. I see 500hp with simple mods, if they really build the bottom end its going to have some crazy potential.

Not quite. 5.0L DOHC V8 wont show until the 2011MY, until then the GT carries on with a tweaked 4.6L SOHC pumping out a bit more hp and the 5-speed manual. Chassis lightening tidbits are coming, but some of that may not show up before the 2011MY either.

If a GTDi V6 engine shows up in the Mustang it will be slotted above the GT, will produce more than 415hp, and wont be called Ecoboost.

if they go from 5 speed to 6 speed then will tremec be dropping one of their 5 speed transmissions? i know the only car that uses the TR3650 is the Mustang GT.
