So number 3 your saying the ZL1 will cost half as much as a ZR1?
So that's 60,000 dollars.

Just joking
Thought I would read between the lines before someone else did.
Just trying to be funny.

"every red blooded American needs to send a note to their elected officials in Congress and the Senate and make it very clear to them that we're tired of their legislating us to death. they are now considering a CAFE Standard of 55 to 62 mpg by 2021. That will be the death of the V8 as we know it.

Sooooooo......get crackin'!"

Folks if we want to keep our muscle cars..... we need to help our own cause!

Niether do I....

Frankly, (and quietly) I wouldn't want it to, either!

In my very humble opinion...the reputation and mystique of the LS7 has far outgrown its actual capabilities in an application such as the Camaro...

I worked from sunup to sunset in the back pasture digging out tree stumps with the tractor - on my sixteenth birthday no less, in steamy Louisiana in the middle of August.

next ?

Edit: At least we weren't bored, Dragoneye.

Now I understand, we're all just WAY TOO NICE for our own good.

That's why we need such an awesome ride. ZL1 will give us automatic street cred without having to apply for Bad Boy status.

It was close, that's all I'm sayin'.................very close.

I don't know if it's their last hurrah or if they plan on turning the Mustang into a supercar or coming out with a GT replacement. But if you can build 1,000 Mustangs with 650 HP and a $75,000 or higher price tag AND make piles of money then why not. But I don't think Ford will just be adding 100 HP to the GT500 and selling it for the same price..................if the rumor is remotely true. It will command premium dollars. If Ford is doing this, it isn't to battle the ZL1, at least I don't think so. And the weight added to accomodate 650 HP would push the GT500 or 600 much closer to 4,000 pounds.

So I guess I'm guessing at this point what their point would be with such a car. But I also don't see GM putting an LS9 into the Camaro as some kind of answer to this rumored car either. The LS9 is what makes the ZR1 worth 6 figures.................that and carbon ceramic brakes.

I hope that GM does get some big numbers for the ZL1. But I think the guys wanting that are thinking Camaro 1st, GM 2nd. GM has to consider the customer who asks why a ZR1 was worth $120,000 if someone else can get a Camaro that has only a few HP less for half the price?

For performance, Mustang is King at FoMoCo. For GM it's the Corvette, and it will take more than a 650 HP Mustang to change that.

There, that probably pi$$ed off a few people. Sorry about that. I truly am.

And there is no problem in hoping for 600 HP....................................It could happen.
Hmm...

If you look at the print across the bottom it says, "Events in rear view mirror are further away than they seem."

True story, but a few decades ago in August, the 18th specifically. There's still time to get cake for this year. Maybe they'll announce specs on my B-Day.
