In all seriousness I've though about it and much like our insulators, would like to test them first before "officially" releasing them. I have no intention of ripping anyone. In the event that they don't work, people can then make the choice to buy them or not LOL

I think the main take away from all of us is we can "feel" the performance increase of this mod on the road (undoubtedly due to the increase in low end torque).
I completely agree 100%! I think that it's a concept generally undervalued these days, given the popularity and accessibility of dynos around. It's more so become a peak squiggly line on a graph contest, with drivability/tractability taking a back seat, which things such as part throttle acceleration transient response times rarely discussed. It these traits that make for a good daily streeter.

Sadly though these traits are difficult to quantify with conventional dynos, but if enough people say the same thing then that must tell you something

From the above link, one of the original fasteners while the rest are the ones supplied for the final install.

As for curing times for the RTV please refer to the recommendations on the back of the packet. From experience though you can "expedite" curing times if you're keen on testing it out sooner rather then later, however at the risk of a vac leak it's probably not worth it.

In regards to Camaro down time, allow for around 2 hours installation time, give or take, plus curing time. If you take your time and pace yourself you should have any problems

As for the supplied fasteners they are the revised ones. Any problems please let us know

I'm sure there are other tips/tricks that other members may want to add, that I've probably overlooked

Kindest Regards,
Steve
Thanks Steve! As always outstanding service from half way around the world! Some of the shops in the state should learn a lesson from you.

for the bolts, MACE has addressed this and everything is good to go. but what you can do, is run to lowes and get some 8x1.25 nuts (they are either 8x1.25 or 8x1...don't remember). once you put the spacers on the IM, use the bolts to ensure proper alignment then tighten the nuts (not grape ape gorilla style) while the RTV dries. once the RTV is set, the bolts can be removed and the insulators will remain attached to the manifold...makes it much easier to reassemble.

if you get hung up or have any other questions ask or feel free to hit me up on PM.
Thanks for the tips boss.......I will pick up some of the nuts and use that to fasten the insulator to the IM.

No probs Blade

We take a simple approach here and that is to help others the way we'd like to be helped as a person.

Hopefully the install goes smoothly

That is the exact tool I used for those hard to reach back bolts...made em a breeze compared to what it could have been.

Question......So how did you make sure you tightened the back nut according to torque specs? Was it just pray that you tightened it enough and not over tighten it?

pretty much. i have a TQ wrench sitting on my bench...as in i haven't used it but if you get the rest tight set at the right TQ, you'll be fine snugging it down.

I used my TQ wrench on the other 5, then felt how tight those were with a socket wrench. Then made sure the back one felt the same.

There's alot of spots a torque wrench just can't get into...
then you've got no choice but to use the "dork" wrench and hope for the best !!
