Did you spray in 1st gear? How is the system activated? WOT or does it come online after a certain RPM? That 60' time must mean you spray in 1st, but I guess I'm just wondering what activates the system. Great Run - 17's and slicks is awesome!!

The system is activated at WOT and you guessed right I arm the system after my burn out then I turn on and then I shift the car into N and take it up to 2000RPM and then small purge shot into the intake to make sure the system feels right it would be better if no rev limit in N. then I stage and brake stand at 2000 RPM then launch and hold on

So if I were doing your steps in a manual, I would arm with car out of gear, take up to 2000 rpm, purge to get a feel as you say, then go into 1st, launch and then go through the gears, correct?

A lot of people have it so the activation switch can only be pressed when the throttle is at 100% One of the rules I learned with nitrous is that whenever you activate the solenoids to spray you need to have the throttle at 100%. If youre more of a dare devil like me you can have just a basic push button switch on your steering wheel. I like to spray after about 2,300 RPMs, then release the button in between shifts and get back on it after each shift once I get into the next gear. |

Finally got to the track!! April 2nd, 2011 at Kansas City International Raceway. I would like to post my time for BONE STOCK category, running on the 20" RS wheels w/Pirelli's. I needed to launch a little harder I think, but not too bad for my first time out with the car I don't think.
They had to print off the time because the slip printer jammed on my run. Here's what they gave me. Any tips are appreciated for next time! There are 2 pictures to show that I was car # 252. The last one is a little slower run I did just before.

Next time out make sure you heat those stock 20's up. Turn the traction control off when doing the burn out and get them spinning. Turn the traction control back on when getting to the lights. If an automatic launch at 1000 rpm's Set your rear tire PSI to as low as 30 lbs. maybe even a little lower. Take the front tire PSI up to at least 42 PSI if not slightly higher. Use the M or sport mode again if automatic let the car do the shifting. These are things I have learned from others and has worked for me. Good Luck.

Nice! I heated them up pretty decent in the pit, and ran it w/o t/c on that run, but I had all 4 tires at 32psi, and had the car in "S" mode. I launched right about 2000 rpms. I was against a '92 LeBaron Turbo with an upgraded turbo and an exhaust and left him in my mirrors, which was nice. Thanks for the help! I'd like to get closer to what Car & Driver said it'll do (14.1). My coolant was also at 205 degrees by that time, and couldn't get it any lower before the run.

What we have found is that these engines like to run on the rich side for fuel, and hot. But they certainly like the COLD incoming air. Your launch at 2000 rpm's probably caused excess wheel spin which kills the 60' times.
Also, take the engine cover off. They look nice but only retain engine heat while running.

Thanks for posting that up. Let the tires heat up longer too. The right tire was not turning long enough. Good luck the next time at the track and be sure to post up again.

V6 Camaro gets the shaft from another company while the Mustang goes up on the pedestal. And WTF is this "The result is a 12.56 quarter-mile time this weekend on drag radials, which was enough to spank the Camaro in the other lane and bring it inline with the V8 Mustang GT"..........was the writer smoking crack. Because what I saw in that video looked like the Camaro was out front all the way. Oh well. Back to dreaming again.
