I don't have much knowledge on m6 but I've heard the more discs the better for high performance high rpm applications

I was reading reviews and some were saying that a 1000 hp twin disc was more streetable than the 700hp of the same brand. Most said the 700 single disc were more stiff and the 1000hp feels more like factory? Could this be true or is it just the difference in a twin disc compared to a single disc?

I went from the Monster stage three to the Mantic 9000 twin. The Monster was a six puck single. It had a little stiffer pedal feel. My experience was it chattered a lot when trying to slip it. However I could dump the clutch all day with no problem. I think it was good for about 800 rwhp. The Mantic is a twin disc. To me it has much better pedal feel. Much more like stock. It's rated for higher HP ( not sure the exact #) it'll slip nice with almost no chatter. When I mean almost none I mean once a week maybe a couple little bucks. I think that is more me than the clutch. Again I can dump the clutch all day with no issues. I'd buy it again. Sorry I can't be more specific about the way they are engineered or the physics behind it but that my real life experience.

Thanks for all the input guys. I've been looking at the Monster and Mantic clutches. I keep flip flopping as to rather i should go with the single disc or get the twin disc that can handle more hp than I will ever get close to. I'm pretty sure after this cam install ill be needing one soon.

Street Slayer is pretty sweet setup and it is rebuildable (so replacement cost down the line is cheaper if you drive your card hard or are keeping it for a long time...)

Thanks Brim, ill look into it. I plan on keeping this car as long as I'm alive and maybe passing it on to my daughter one day.

I agree with all others in here so far though, the ones listed are not bad options. I do like the Mantic's and that is what we sell (FSP), but I personally have experience with the Monster Single Disk stage III on my own car as it fit my needs. Also I got it a phenominal deal on it which helped sway me lol. So Mantic/Monster/Street Slayer and absolutely McLeods should be in the conversation are all awesome clutches. |
