One could only assume, that if it is really the extra runner length that provides the nice boost in low end torque, then the LFX should benefit from this product too correct (yes I know the LLT one does not fit the LFX).

But since the LFX manifold does not get heat soaked as easily as the LLT manifold does maybe the power gains wouldn't be quite the same.

I was discussing this with a motor engineering friend of mine and he credits the runner length more than the temps being cooler. I agree with him with the fact that the runner length increases the power band we drive in once this is installed. And I saw evidence of it when I was monitoring the RPMs. I definitely saw the car driving atleast 200-500 RPMs higher than before, I don't think it's a whole lot in our cars but I think it makes a hell of a difference when you tryin to get a little more oomph while driving.

The cooling effect helps, but not as much as the runner length IMHO. As for the LFX, we all waited how long for LLT products to come out? I give it till the end of this year beginning of next year for the mods to start pouring in.

Steve - Is the LFX being used in Australia? Or a variant?

Thanks man!

It's funny how much easier for me it is to work the mechanical components of the engine. You should read the threads related to electrical adventures for this car

We're about 20 miles from the factory that makes them which is handy

yes, the runner length is going to be you major contributor to the power increase, the whole reason behind those crazy hilborn intake manifolds
The thermal benifits are going to keep your power more consistant over the duration of daily use. The whole reason company's use the plastic manifolds (price too) vs. continued use of alloy manifolds in the modern age. But alloy allows for porting, and holds up to boost a bit better than plastics....pros/cons to each material used.

pretty damn cool that a spacer like the ones out there can produce the gains shown...true bang for buck option.

I was thinking the same but wasn't sure if it was true, I couldn't imagine if thess composite manifolds can handle porting. But I didn't think about how their boost performance would be, good knowledge

Maybe the LFX will have an aftermarket alloy manifold available to them one day, along with runners. The allow manifold would only be useful to them if they did FI IMHO.

Btw.....have a question, these are the stock bolts from when I removed the IM.

Is that black stuff needed when I install the IM back onto the engine? I figure the RTV took care of whatever the black stuff was doing before.

That's like the equivalent to an exhaust gasket. It's there to keep it air tight. It seems GM incorporated that idea onto almost every engine bolts on the LLT.

you sure it's a airtight thing? I thought they were there to resist engine vibration and to help keep them from backing themselves out because of the vibrations.

I didn't even notice those rubber rings on my bolts. Ooops. I never swapped them.
