my factory Z/28 thermostat was stamped 70°C also. I rounded up 2°F and called it a "160°"

I'm very surprised that such a simple part is from Japan. I have a feeling that this is indeed a fast opening thermostat. We'll see. My former track day videos have the coolant temps already overlayed. It will be fun to see what coolant temps I hit with the thermostat (probably very close).

Yeah I did notice a few other parts under the hood are Denso products (although Denso is one of the largest auto parts manufacturers in the world)

... and Grand Sport is back!

I really enjoyed (relatively) cheap performance back when I owned a '12 C6 Grand Sport, and I'm ecstatic that you can now even get it with the full Z07 kit!

Who knows, I might add it once we can get to have it with 10% discount : )

Just realized I was responding to pictures from last week......

Either way: You have the incorrect valve stem. You should have the metal ones like pictures above.

All 1LE, ZL1 and Z/28 come with the OEM metal ones. All other Camaro models use rubber.

Oh well, I'll get them replaced next time I change the tires, then.

Are these the right ones?

And were they identical to the ones that came with the car? If so, I'll place an order now for future use : )

And I also bought ... Kent-Moore EL-50448 TPMS Tire Pressure Monitor Sensor Activation Tool... Syncs everything right up...

Can't use the tire pressure change method

I do have the ATEQ unit; it works fine. I'll order the sensors shortly.

Any pics of the other side of the stat? No issues with fitment between LS7 and LS3 and just position the air bleeder same orientation? You may need to consider fan tuning. I do see my temps drop when AC cycles at 60mph. I'm assuming fans kicking in since temp drop dramatically at cruising RPM, then they go back up to 190. Not sure how it would operate at track speeds. Since my street temps rarely go over 200 and I'm usually in the mid 190s on the high side, only time I notice fan kicking in fully w/o AC is cool-down between runs at auto-x. Stupid KB Supercharger coolant reservoir starts overflowing.

Interested to see if they make a difference for you on longer track sessions.

I'll take more pics when I get to install it. It will probably be very hard to know if it works/helps, since the help should be small, and it's hard to replicate same test environment. I'll probably have a better idea once I collect enough amount of logs and compare the temps I see at my long uncut track videos. If it even drops the coolant temps by 5-10 degrees, it would have a huge impact on spark timing, so I'm excited!

Regarding fans, it's a good idea to check if they work at speed using the A/C, but I'd still not be sure since I obviously don't run with A/C on at the track. This thermostat will also keep my radiator at higher temps since the fans will not come to the rescue until long after thermostat has already opened. From that point of view, it would be nice if fans could be programmed to kick in earlier. I have the inTune handheld, and will lower fan temps as much as allowed.

There's also impact to my transmission and diff temps. Would they be impacted positively, or negatively? Normally, with the fan and thermostat not kicked in, the diff/transmission cooler enjoys a cooled-down radiator core. Now the core will warm up faster... Or does it? Even closed thermostats allow a bit of flow after all.

OK enough talk on such a simple change; we'll see soon
