No offense Bonnie... but your just a tad off in your description (of this wine). The cherry wine you had was probably a chardonnay or other type of grape wine flavored with cherry concentrate. Thats how they do it in Texas and other southern states. Ridiculous I know.

BUT in the great state of Michigan (Never Mess with the Mitten) we (I say we like I am part of the wineries) ferment the actual cherries... there are no grapes in this wine what so ever. Michigan is imerging as one of the premier wine climates in the nation. It is one of only a few places in the world that you can actually make a natural Ice Wine as well. 112 wineries up there.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michigan_wine

They can make all sorts of Cherry wine, sweet, dry, port, etc. If you check that link out, you will see Traverse City "Cherry Capital of the world" my hometown... hence my little obsession, haha.

Bonnie/Abygal
If I bring one of my best bottles of Cherry Wine to C5F would you like to have a glass with me.... It has to be done before the Bud Light and Wild Turkey starts flowing though. PQ..... you are definitely in too buddy

thats cool, I'd love to try it we can leave Randy out, I'm j/k I wouldnt do that , hahaha, sounds like this is going to be alot of fun.....

Kyle, it looks like Michigan is known for fruit brandy too....interesting.

http://www.wyldewoodcellars.com/

Wow.. thats an interesting website... It looks like they use that concentrate to infuse into grape wine... You would have to with an Elderberry I think, they are so tiny, not much juice. Helps against H1N1, yay! haha. You may need to bring a bottle of that too! to help ward off hangovers hopefully.

Yes, they do make quite a few fruit brandys, I have tried many kinds... its not my thing. My mom uses Pear Brandy to cook a little bit, but thats about it. We are a big grower of Apples as well. Pear/Apple/Cherry Brandy is about all I have had I think.

I will bring a bottle and I'm sure we'll have plenty of opportunity to do some field trials to see if it works on hangovers!

Well, you know there are better ways of persuading than arm twisting......

But hopefully we'll be lucky and Rick can bring a bottle and you can save yours for when PQ and Bon Bon arrive.

Well if you are promising "cherry goodness" you may need some help. There are some here that think some of the ladies will need bodyguards.... but you may need one as well! You know to protect that "cherry goodness." You may have a "ladies of C5" riot on your hands.

Well guys and dolls, I'll see you later. I'm changing and getting on the treadmill before I talk myself out of it! Take care.
