however, they SHOULD be up to date on everything that we know. they should know more about this car than we do. and it truly sucks that a lot of them dont put forth the time and effort to research the info that is asked of them. and I know the GM hotline has been hit and miss, but with 2394867234987124 calls an hour, things go to crap fast. but.... I wholehearted agree with you on the bold part... well, actually, I agree with you on most everything else you've posted in this thread. I'm not arguing against you in this, just trying to calm things down and explain things a little.

You've lost a lot of credibility here with your lying about pre-ordering. I've asked you a question and I would appreciate a response.

If the Camaro is a 21st century automobile, why does it seem that GM marketing is stuck decades in the past, its just not the way to do things any more.... Have these people heard of "customer service"?

Which question? You've lost credability for being pissed about not knowing full well what the plan was when you pre-ordered. I do give you credit though, You and UFC are the only ones that should be complaining. You actually read the boards and don't hop on the bandwagon. I said what I said to stop other people from complaining because they didn't know any better. Notice how some people didn't post anything else until you were able to figure out that I didn't pre-order, but as soon as you did, a certain someone popped in immediately after and said "YEAH!" like a groupie/sidekick?
Since you actually did some research and showed intelligence, you are now approved to whine as much as you'd like. Have a good day. =) |

I haven't really participated in this thread too much, mostly because I've had mixed feelings about this whole pre-ordering thing and some of the really harsh (but some deserved) comments.
On one hand, we have what we feel is the way things should be done. Pre-ordered cars first followed by everyone else. On the other hand, there's what the business feels it needs to do (to stay afloat at this point). There's always going to be things that don't align on both sides. For anyone that has met Scott, you know he has never steered us in the wrong direction so why would he start now. If he says they're doing everything they can, I believe him. Do I like the way things are going? No, of course not. I'm sure if Scott (and some others at GM) could change the way things were done, they would. Look at all the things we did get changed, blue on the SS, polished rims with RS, etc. I don't think manufacturing and delivery is anything we can touch. This process is probably more complicated than any of us could understand. They've done this longer than we have, so I'm going to trust them to do what's right. I'm sure in a couple weeks, most of this will blow over and we'll all have our cars and all will be right with the world. I know some feel really strongly about it, and I completely understand why, but I guess the only thing I can say is try to stay positive. After years of waiting, we're only a couple of weeks away! If they can technically and legally put a whole slew of celebrities in the super early cars in addition to Avis, they can do the same for the preorders. It's just a matter of wanting to. It will likely cause them some headaches and griping from ripoff dealers that didn't participate in the preorder process but they should be willing to put up with it; it's the right thing to do.

You were kinda quiet and UFC/Hylton were the only two names that stuck out. You keep under the radar, but you are allowed too. =)
