So does the 25mm MACE really increase normal drive rpms? Are others noticing this?

Just curious. I don't understand why it would increase rpms, but if so, that would seem to certainly account for some of that low torque feel wouldn't it?

KM...

i haven't noticed my RPM's increase at all on the road, except for when i . only RPM shift i noticed was on the dyno with HP and TQ, which shifted to the left. hopefully i'll be doing another dyno pull on friday so i'll have more results to post which should show that as well...guess we'll see.

an old school calculation for runner length to RPM comes from david vizard. his rule states: "add 4.3cm(1.69in) to runner length for every 1000RPM that you want peak TQ to occur before 10,000RPM".

25mm=2.5cm 25.4mm=1in

so we should be seeing roughly a shift of the RPM band to the left by 500RPM.

not sure where the increase in RPM's came from unless the OP changed out his wheels too...

That makes sense, I was just reporting what I observed I consistently drive at 80 mph when I drive to Philly. In 6th gear I have always seen the RPMs sitting at 2000, but when I drove around Sunday morning, the needle was sitting a little higher

All I know is the car was a effing HOSS Sunday morning after installation.

Blade - anytime bro! the first time i pulled the bolts out i was like "WTF are these?" glad you were able to get it all back together. what are the other issues your having right now?

Jay - hahaha...im sure the acceleration is nice too. bet you wish you still had the ARK... what is your current setup now? and did the newest tune change your idle/rev much?

Steve - thanks to you and your mace-o-lator, i've been doing some research and learned a lot. not to mention you got me going down the right road and understand how the insulator works. as a side note, its been beneficial to a project im currently working on...win win.

I never took it apart, I waited for you to respond especially when I remember that I had reinstalled the x-gasket. Once I saw your response, I left everything alone.

As for the other issues, the car wouldn't start in the morning sometimes because the battery would be dead while sitting there overnight. During the day the car would run just fine, just sometimes the starter would have to work a little harder to crank the car up.

Turns out the damn engine wasn't grounded properly in December when the dealer in Jersey rebuilt it.

Got that datalog done- it took awhile so I'd added the Mace 25mm and Hi-Flo cats. I'd driven about 175miles (9 miles at a time, to and from work mostly), since the last change.

Vince sez no updates are needed. I'm not surprised, the car is running great.

My last datalog was after adding Rx ported TB and a cold air scoop, and those didn't require any updates either.

That "13hp" tune is obviously a good one, but I'm ready to try the new tune as soon as it is available!!

Hey guys, After I installed the insulator, I would periodically check the bolts and give it a quick turn to tighten them up, figuring they would need that. I didn't have a torque wrench, so I couldn't tighten them up using that thing. I neglected to do so over the last 2 weeks and this morning when I went back with the L-Wrench, the bolts required a little more tightening than the quick turns I had been doing.

Is there something you recommend that can make sure these bolts don't loosen up? Will loctite do the job?
