Agree and More

I agree, not only should they build cars that have been on order first, but they should not screw up the orders and deliver a car with out the right options as the dealer did. They offered a lame excuse, but say its going to be 6 weeks to order another, I dont expect to see a car for many more months. IMHO There will be used Camaros on the lots before I see a replacement. If I am lucky I will get in time for Christmas. This is indicative of why people buy Toyotas and Nissans ,under or non performing dealers and lame excuses for mistakes that should never happen. I hear this has happened to others, no surprise there.

I said what I said to stop other people from complaining because they didn't know any better. Notice how some people didn't post anything else until you were able to figure out that I didn't pre-order, but as soon as you did, a certain someone popped in immediately after and said "YEAH!" like a groupie/sidekick?

Since you actually did some research and showed intelligence, you are now approved to whine as much as you'd like. Have a good day. =)
I have to disagree with you. Anyone who is a customer of any business should have the ability to complain about a product, service or part thereof which they are not satisfied with. It's the American way bro!

Now back on topic - is this statement you made below also false?

If you knew that, then you wouldn't be complaining right now. I'm trying to figure out why people thought it was pre-order means you're buying the car when GM clearly said it wasn't that way back before they took pre-order number 1.

Yeah, I wouldnt pre order either. I did a year ago, car gets delivered to the dealer and whaddya know, no RS package. Someone screwed the pooch. Dealer blames GM, GM is gonna blame dealer. They now say a re order will take 6 weeks to get, doubt it highly, I wont see it til Xmas if Im lucky. I cant believe a company selling cars for over 100 years is this screwed up. When I placed order, dealers didnt have a clue about options etc. THis is why people buy Toyotas and Nissans. So much for summer time cruisin in the Camaro. No one wants to take delivery of a car like a camaro in Nov... just in time to see the snow fly. I wont patronize the dealer ever again. No service, parts, accessories, none of it. I will also advise friends/family to boycott it as well.

If GM and/or the dealers would have been upfront and honest with the customers, it would be different. I for one would never had pre-ordered and locked in my deposit (which for me a non-refundable due to a stupid state law). I am not a Camaro enthusiast, have never owned a Camaro before (wouldn't even consider any Camaro other than a '67-69 and the fifth gen), but was drawn to this car. I am what GM needs to sell these cars (and stay in business).

But now I am convinced that I will get my car after alot of other non pre-orders and I will pay more than people walking off the street (i doubt that even MSRP will hold up for more than a month or two once they start to littering the dealer lots). Just look at the poor (literally) souls that paid MSRP or more for the Challenger, only to see these cars on dealers lots a month or two later practically being given away.

I was stupid for pre-ordering (scratch that), participating in the marketing survey, that had me fork over $1k deposit and sign a sales order to pay MSRP. Shame on me, but its GM and its dealers that will lose in the long run, as this will absolutely change my future buying habits (my last two new vehicals where Chevy, not including this one).

I believe everyone has the right to be pissed at this point.
Thanks for Camaro5 for letting us express our opinion.

First and most importantly, welcome to the site. Secondly, I'd appreciate it if you do not make such comments in this thread if you have not contractually ordered the new Camaro. There is a difference between someone who is frustrated with their buying experience and someone who is not speaking from experience. That applies to the fanboys as well.

If you have pre-ordered the car and don't mind waiting while others who have ordered months after you, receive their cars before you do, I would like to hear from you. Perhaps a MOD can change the thread title to "Customer Complaints Thread" as it would be more appropriate and reflect the original subject matter.

No it is not false. It was plastered all over the IDL. They were saying that pre-orders would start to be taken on 10/13 and that these would be entered into the system for a census so that when they started actually building the cars, they would be able to judge the proportion of cars to make. The reason was because they didn't want to have anything on constraint if they could help it.

iam pissed just as most of you but i was looking at alot of orders on spreadsheets that ucf had done for all of us. if you look at the names on the orders and then go to one of the dealers website you will see that name matches and sales persons name. so that was a fake pre order so i think gm was building them as pre orders and since it was not now we see them showing up on ebay and in autotader do we blame gm or the dirty dealers that are now selling them for anywhere from $2000 to $15000 over msrp

I'm trying to understand you here. In the first post, you state "you read the instructions and literature that GM had put out". Then in the second post you state that "it was plastered all over the IDL". I would like you to provide me the "instructions and literature that GM had put out which you had read".
