Makes sense to me...

1) Put car on dyno and tune - Get 420 RWHP
2) Get car on the street/track with real world conditions - Typically find the tune is a bit to aggressive and need to back things off a bit, usually back down the timing, maybe richen things up...
3) Redyno car and now at 405 RWHP...

Also remember the dyno run was done with an intercooler... So once they added the intercooler the HP loss would be normal

????

An intercooled system should definitely make MORE HP! Intercooled means cooler IATs, which means you should be able to run more boost and a bit more timing.

so it is,but with intercooler you have an extra pressure drop, so the boost at the throttlebody is less then without IC.
the IC helps to reduce IAT in normal driving, and then the facts you mentioned are right.

good point on the PSI drop! I would expect though that the cooler air would allow them to get a bit more aggressive with the tune and make up most of what was lost with the psi drop.... and then stick a smaller pulley on!!! WOOHOO! LOL!

But yes, just putting an intercooler on without taking advantage of it, could result in less power...

I received a call to action email from IPF pimping their fully refundable deposit. I responded outlining why without any solid information i.e. testing that I and others would remain skeptical. Here was their response:
Hello Jak,
Thank you for your response. We understand there have been offers in the past for forced induction on the V6 Camaro models only to have the project scrapped in the end. Our test Camaro has been put through may tests to ensure a reliable system with proven results. The dyno results show our kit just above the 400 rwhp mark. There has been a demand for 0-60 and ¼ mile times. Although we understand the request for this information, there are outside factors that need to considered when running these type of tests. (track conditions, climate, tire temp, driver, etc) Currently we are in talks with one of the enthusiasts publications to do these tests for us to give honest, unbiased results. When these tests are done, we will be posting the results! Please let us know if you have any additional questions! Thanks!

so, in other words:
"We can't actually get the car to perform in a fashion that matches the numbers we advertised. We're hoping someone with better skills at driving can get numbers worth posting."

Buy yeah... sounds like a lot of blah, blah, blah...

And even it they are waiting for a publication to do the tests, are they going to leak the results early or are they going to have to wait for the publication to hit the newsstands? Because the lead time for most publications can be a very long time!

That is word for word the response I got too after questioning 0 real world figures.

As for "there are outside factors that need to considered when running these type of tests. (track conditions, climate, tire temp, driver, etc" Isn't that always the case? Unless you plan on running the Camaro inside a laboratory with laboratory MONKEY DRIVERS you will always have outside factors. WE KNOW THAT!!!

I'm surprised that jak even got a response. I emailed IPF and RDP asking for more info but the only one that got back to me was RDP but with very little information. I asked for more info such as expected power figure and expected finish date and got no answer back. IPF is on a silent mission it seems. Weapon-r on a silent mission. WTF is wrong with most of these vendors that want to sell shyt but never want to back up their product or at least try to stay on top of it? Where's the customer service? I see why tracy and vince is racking up on LLT product sales.
