Either way, if the purpose is to be the "leader", then why not just put a AFM 600HP Auto or 638HP Manual choice? Just use the current ZR-1 Engine and forget it! There is no way it would run like the vette due to the weight, but it would allow for volume orders from parts suppliers and focus on just a couple engines at the high end. Unless of course, they feel it would be inappropriate without the roll bars. LOL

I'd also like to see a few more colors similar to old days... earth tones.http://www.camaro5.com/forums/images...s/thumbsup.gif
LSA has a lot of those. Forged crank, PM rods, upgraded hyper' pistons, oil squirters, the heads are the same as the LS9 castings and upgraded headgaskets among some other features. People are too dark on LSA, and there are a couple people on this forum who've run the 'ish out of LSA and haven't broken it yet; on the stock 1900 blower. I don't recall if there was any porting and I'm sure there was a pulley upgrade, but it's the OEM CTS-V blower. LSA is a great place to start at a great price with a fair amount of headroom; not as much as the GT500, but how many people are really going to go that far?... I'd love to see LS9, but just don't see it working out I love where you're going with the gears though!

I dunno if you really would. Think of the cost. Would you rather drive an LSA or watch an LS9 drive by?

Also...I'm out in left-field here, now....Chevy created the L99 for the Camaro. An actively changing fuel system with many components and many calibrations...Who's to say they don't throw the forged pistons from the LS9 into the LSA and name it something new?

We're still probably a year-out from being able to buy this monster...*general statement* I'd wait to write it off until we KNOW what's going into it.

Touche! If they can get LS9 in there at a price point that's not much, if any, above the GT500, I don't even have to think twice about it.

I think a hybrid would be awesome. Leave the Ti bits out, including the valves, bump the redline to 6500, and watch 580 horsepower burn up the rear tires

RE: price. Bear in mind the CTS-V coupe, basically the same car with better amenities, is going to start at $62K or so. That has to be the upper bound for a Z/28. I still think the Z/28 will have a base price that starts with the number 4 and not 5.

From another forum I found this:The ZR1 uses a 2.3L supercharger, the CTS-V uses a 1.9L supercharger. That's where the horsepower difference comes from. Those 82 horses are easily gained back with a software upgade + smaller pulley. I would do your research, though, as the CTS-V comes with hyper-eutectic cast aluminum pistons vs. forged aluminum in the ZR1. Not sure how much boost either can handle, but common knowledge is forged are more durable when pushing the boost levels. "i have seen a set of lsa heads and although from the outside they look pretty similiar to a ls9 head, its not the same its got a weird area right around the bowl area behind the intake valve" "The LSA uses a single brick intercooler whereas the LS9 has a dual brick cooler - but the duals are half the thickness of the single one".....

Well..... I'm not picky on whatever they put in a Z28 because it's not going to the track! Hell, I'd be lucky to get it out once a week for cruisin!
