This is mine with the TSW 19x10.5" 305s. I want a 11" on the rear though.

You may be too young to remember the heavy metal parody movie in the 80s called spinal tap...but you comment about wanting an 11" made me think of this:I'm 39. Yes I heard of that movie. I only want 11x19 because of the lack of the fender flares in the rear.

1LE to Z/28 Wheel Specs
I acquired a set of used Z/28 wheels that I am going to run on the car with a set of Hankook RS3 (140 treadwear). I figured out the following information for 1LE owners looking to changed to a 305/30/19 tire for the track. ( No, I cant get anymore Z/28 wheels for you ) Note: I have a set of used 305/30/19 Bridgestones on the car in the pictures while I was test fitting them and deciding what tire to try....

Stock 1LE
  • F 20x10ET23
  • R 20x11ET43
  • 285/35/20
  • Tire OD: 27.85"
  • Gear ratio: 3.91
1LE Top Speed in 1st - 4th gear
  • 53mph
  • 79mph
  • 108mph
  • 140mph
1LE with Z/28 wheels and 305/30/19 tires
  • F 19x11ET11 (25mm further out than 1LE wheels)
  • R 19x11.5ET26 (23mm further out than 1LE wheels)
  • Tire OD: 26.2"
  • Effective Gear Ratio with 305/30/19 tire: 4.1562
1LE Top Speed in 1st - 4th gear with 305/30/19
  • 46mph
  • 69mph
  • 95mph
  • 124mph
Misc: If using 305/30/19 tires on 1LE

  • Tire OD is 1.65" shorter
  • Car will sit .825" lower than stock.
  • Speedo Error at 60mph: +3.8mph
  • Speedo Error at 100mph: +6.3mph
I did look at using CTS-V Coupe Rear Rim on all 4 corners for daily driving: (must be a coupe rear to get the 10" width)

  • 19x10ET40
  • F 17mm inward from a stock 1LE
  • R 10mm inward from a stock 1LE
  • 285/35/19: 26.85" OD
  • 295/35/19: 27.12" OD
Please let me know if my math is off.

Good day.

Are you considering any flaps or the Z28 flares up front for your new extending Z28 wheels?

Thanks,
Tim

I have a set of RPI ZL1 splash guards I am about 10 minutes away from installing....Looking for other flare options but not the Z/28 as they require the complete ground effect package to work and they are for the 2014+.

Ok thanks.
Lots of pics please.

Also, were the batch of driver side pics(post 48) -with the 285 or 305 RS3s up front on the Z28 rim?

Edit:

See you post this am in other thread. The post 48 was the bridgestones I think, while your other thread was the RS3. I appears the rs3 tuck in much more in the rear. would be great to post some pics hear of the rs3 on the fronts.

Thanks

I wasn't going to post these until after they were installed.....But, with the recent release of the Camaro specific Recaro seats combined with the fabrication and wiring that needs to be completed to get these in the car the project is a No-Go!

I picked up a set of brand new Recaro from a CTS-V, blk/blk leather/Antarctica that I wanted to install as I have nothing good to say about the stock SS seats on track. I did not want a full race seat as the car spends enough time on the street that I would like to keep the airbags.

At this time seat are up for sale. $2500 OBO for the pair, ($3400 option in car, public must purchase in pieces) Pick up only OR buyer can pay in full and I will drop them at a location within 30 miles that will palatalize and ship them for the buyer. (I will drop them off only, buyer works out all details for logistics)

A few pictures of what could have been.

Thank you for documenting everything, the data is great and speaks volumes.

What are your future plans for the car?

One of my good friends has a V, and the seat frame feels much more narrow than the Camaro specific Recaros. Am I imagining that?

I don't know as I have never compared them side by side

Matt
Do you have pictures of the tire bead area on the z28 wheels? They are supposed to be blasted to minimize rotation
Have you noticed the tires sliding/rotating on the rims? I would expect a balance problem, but I am losing a lot of rubber each day so not sure if the balance issues are from rubber loss or tire/wheel slippage.
Thx
