And the fixes for your v8's don't all work for the v6. We even got a 'mo with a mustank trying to "help" be a smartass. There's a few that are addressing the issue, then a bunch that are smartasses.
These are what I plan on using to get it right:

Good luck.

8k miles later on my dealer installed JBA's and no CEL....yet. You would think JBA would come on here and offer some explanation on where the problem lies.

I think its installation. I had my longtubes done by a reputable shop, and I didn't get a CEL for the 150 miles or so I drove. I still got a tune, because I wanted to get the most out of the setup.

But I have noticed a lot of the cars that have issues after installing headers are those that are done at home or the owner suspects the shop didn't seal up the connections properly.

BTW........I still haven't seen an answer to this question: Does GM honor warranties on cars purchased abroad? If true, since the OP is in Kuwait, I don't think he would need to worry about voiding a warranty if he gets a tune.

This demonstrates one thing. Headers are leaking! Take the car to a shop and find out where the leak is and fix it.

There is a lengthy thread about this here on the forum....basicly if there is a problem with the car and it has been flashed........
I would love a tune , and a cam.........in a couple years maybe.

Waste of time? I don't really think so. V6ers are getting sweet gains with LT headers , and from the dynos I've seen, a tune only seems to give a couple more ponies...if that. But I'm not saying tunes aren't worth it either, just saying that headers alone are not a "waste".

According to the tech at the Chevy dealership I take my car too, they can't tell if the v6 computer has ever been flashed. It's a newer ECM then what's in the SS cars, and doesn't have it's safeguards, yet.

On the v6 cars, the OEM manifolds are so short, that shorty headers for us are more midlength. Both brands require cutting and welding to fit, and because of the added length of the runners, we do indeed see solid gains from shorty headers, although the gains from LTs is much greater.

Okay, to the OP, what kind of gasket and where? More then likely the cause is in the stacker flange. JBA seriously needs to redesign that section of the header/midpipes.

In Oman we get 5 years or 100,000 km whichever comes first.

I'd suggest go back to stock headers and once your warranty is over put the JBA back on with tune. 10-15 hp gain isnt much anyway. You could get a CAI for that gain.

Hmm.......at this point if it bothers you so much I would follow the advice of reverting back to stock, hang on to the shorties and then add them on after the warranty expires.

Good luck.

Throw the JBAs away and get a set of Doug Thorley Headers. Same price as a tune.
