From your newer pics, I can see how your hand would get cut. The corner edges of the breakaway part of the steering wheel look like they could do some damage when it's flipping up - rapidly - during the airbag deployment. Ouch. Hope your feeling better soon! Best of luck to you with the repairs and insurance. Just remember - don't cash any checks from the other insurance until everything, including your health, is back to 100%...

Well, estimate came in, $15,500 in damages and counting. They're taking it apart in order to know for sure but that's just what the adjuster saw so far. I'm almost positive there's drivetrain damage. Very close to being totaled, is what the adjuster told me...I have to wait and see for the final damage tally.

I'd be very surprised if that wasn't a total write off.
Glad to hear you're ok though. Accidents suck...been in a few myself.

THAT SUCKS!!! I feel for you. Our Camaro is our first REAL muscle car. We've been babying it because we want to keep it as long as we can. My wife drives a Camry during the week so we won't put alot of miles on the Camaro. Accidents are always lurking around the corner, and can happen to anyone. I hate you were involved in one, but at least you were not hurt badly. I agree with Alain. Get you an SS... but a convertible!

Well you were right. Final tally came back and the transmission's shot. The decision was made to total it...they still have to decide on a final value. Hopefully I can get into another Camaro...but...dunno right now.

My condolences for your loss. The final resting place for your Camaro will be here. It may live again as a rebuilt salvage. Keep track of the VIN.

Yeah, also a lot of front end damage there...looks to me as if lots of inexperienced or hot-blooded drivers have jumped on the Camaro bandwagon with the 2010.

Seems to me that in cases of a write off, insurance companies should write a check sufficient enough for the claimant to replace their car with pretty much exactly what they had before, no?
