Frontal Car Accident
Well you read about this but then it happens to you. Heading home to lunch today, an oncoming Kia crossed into the intersection while I passed through and I had nowhere to go. Brakes, swerve, impact, airbag, median. I have a pretty bad, deep cut on my right palm, 12 stitches...I think the steering wheel plastic gouged me when the airbag came out. All things considered I am EXTREMELY thankful it wasn't worse...could have turned out badly. Seat belts save lives.
The pics show front end damage that doesn't look too bad, but I couldn't shift the car out of D and the passenger door won't open. Hoping for the best but prepping for the worst. Please drive safe everyone! PS - Onstar came on immediately and I cannot say enough good about them. Professional and very effective...police arrived very soon after.

So did the driver of the Kia stop or keep driving because wouldn't he/she/it, even though he/she/it wasn't involved in the collision they would be at fault if they swerved into oncoming. Also glad you're still kicking around, nothing good about being in an accident.

Bummer! Good to know that you're not seriously hurt. Heal quickly & hopefully the insurance will be handling your claim quickly.

Thanks all. The Camaro was a champ...the Kia had a massive cave-in of the front-right side of his car. American crumple zones FTW! It doesn't look horrendous but again, I worry about the drivetrain.

So what did OnStar say after the accident?
Glad to hear you're ok, btw. If the passenger door won't open, there's a lot of hidden damage. I wouldn't be surprised if they wrote a $10-$12k estimate on that car. |
