Basically I want an LS3....not the L76 or any other "lesser" V8 they might put in it.
Same. And I don't want it supercharged. After some new heads and a new cam, and a bore/stroke it'll be plenty powerful

Me too! I'll take mine black and I'm going for the top-of-the-line engine-wise, no matter what it is. After that, I'm tinting the windows and having a custom stereo system installed- something that does damage to internal organs if turned up too loud.

BLACK, SUPERCHARGED, WIDEST TIRES POSSIBLE. Don't need a stereo, ac, traction control, carpet, electric windows, locks.

Hi to all... i'm new on here, but have been drooling over the new camaro for ages.... but i'm definitely going to wait for the big power version (partly so i can save up the money)... i used to have a mildly tuned 68 SS396, which pulled like a train and sounded evil ... and i can't wait to get back to owning a V8... my current car just doesn't cut it.

I'm sad to say that I'm waiting for the ss, I say sad because I hate to wait anything but having a warranty is so worth it since it will be a daily driver

P.s. This is my first forum post from an iphone woot

I will definitely be buying a camaro ss. I have always been a camaro ss fan. I love the svt cobra as well and if they ever revive the svt cobra the camaro ss will have a buddy to sit next to.

Anyone else thinking the "SS" Moniker is toast?

I was thinking... if they have decided to name the SuperCorvetter the "ZR1" then wouldn't it make sense (from a product standpoint) to name the Camaro "Z28" so that all the top-end sports cars have "Zxx" names?

Z06, ZR1, Z28, etc?

Just thinking aloud...

Oh, and I will probably wait, but if they have a lighter, more road-race friendly version, I might get that... 300lbs lighter with a light 400hp small block with REALLY good suspension? Hell yeah!

I had a question about those monikers from you Chevy and GM buffs.

Is there any system to the Z..... whatever names. There are so many

There is the Z71 with the trucks (Silverado?)
There is the Z51 handling package with the Vettes
There is the Z28 for the Camaros
There is the Z06 and ZR1 also for the Vettes.
How can anyone forget the legendary ZL1 Camaro and Vettes.

I think there are some others that I don't know about. Is there anything to the designations? Why are they all "Z"

Z51 doesn't really belong in that list, but I think the Z RPO monikor is a coincidence. They all seem to point to basically chassis packages

I don't necessarily think it's toast, but have a good feeling that our Z28 might be top dog. Your observation is pretty good. And combined with the posts from Scott over on another site, make me believe Z28 it top. He doesn't admit to anything (as he really can't), but it's the feeling you get from reading...

I don't think it's toast...but has a Corvette ever been an SS?

I think the Z's are just a chevy thing...some strange coincidence that they ran with. what was it, the SS's real code - 'Z27'?

And either way, depending on cost, I hope I can get the top-dog, be it Z28, or SS.
