Here is a letter I wrote to Johnson controls on 12/16/2010:

Questions & Comments : Dear Johnson Controls.
I currently own a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro V6 2LT/RS with heated front seats. I need to get a seat base/track for the front passenger seat that has some kind of vertical adjustment, basically like the standard drivers seat base/track has with the “ratcheting vertical adjustment”.
My passengers are very uncomfortable in the front passenger seat due to not being able to look out the front windshield and see, as the stock base has no vertical adjustment. And according to what I read on the Camaro forums on the internet, there are many owners with the same issue.
So, I am asking for your help. Do you have a passenger seat base/track that will work in my Camaro, with height adjustment?
Or, is there a way to add a vertical height adjustment mechanism to my current passenger seat base/track.
Please assist me with this dilemma.

Thank you for your interest in JCI and our products.

We have reviewed your comments with our customer (GM) and have identified the following:

1) There will be a power passenger seat coming to the Camaro for the 2012 Model Year.

2) You should be able to contact your dealer and purchase this seat and have it installed at the dealer beginning in 2011.

3) According to GM the power passenger seat is electrically compatible with your vehicle's wiring system.

4) The only issue you may encounter will be if you have base cloth seats. There is currently no release planned for the passenger power option with base cloth.

I'll believe it when I see it. I've never seen a part number for a complete seat in my life. It's always been parts, and if you needed a complete seat you had to buy all the parts and build it up. $$$$$.

The parts alone are outrageously expensive, if they do come up with complete seats available for sale..... plan a second mortgage.

I'm getting a 1SS with cloth. Does that mean my passenger seat will not have 6 way adjustable???

The order guide says AKQ is standard with LT and SS, and it specifically shows as standard with 1SS. So it seems like it should be there.

Give your dealer a call and see if they can see the RPOs yet, and if AKQ is there.

It's not available in the LS, maybe that is what is being referred to above as "base cloth". Everything I see shows it in all LTs and SSs.
