Camaro is a vette with a comfy suspension, back seat and a trunk, its has some novelty until everyone and their mother gets the v6's, while the vettes have been around for a long time so no one will care. If you were a weekend warrior auto crosser then id say get a used vette over the camaro, but if ur looking for a nice looking, fast, dependable daily driver then stick to the camaro.

There is a z06 being sold here for $45k btw, 05 with 15k miles. And ive seen 08 vettes for as low as 36k with 10k miles or less.

Yeah the new vette's are cheap, teh deale I posted in the price gouging dealer post, actually has a vette on their lot with a 10k discount, and a Caddy XLR with a 24K discount!! this thing was in the showroom... but I guess it sat for so long they put it up front so everyone would see it when they drive by... not bad even for a "price gouging" dealer.

$1500 under invoice is not bad Scotty!

I haven't read everyone's response, nor will I. Let me say, I got to ride in a CTF car yesterday. If you buy ANYTHING with out driving the camaro your are nuts and will be very VERY disappointed when the car comes out. WAIT to drive one.

Too late...I am already . I will not look back though. I put alot of effort into my decision and I am not going to go there again. The Camaro is more me than the vette is and that is just the way it is. As mentioned above. I'd be nuts choosing the Camaro w/out driving it. Well I am nuts, and alot on this site are nuts too. Not a bad thing in this case, all us people that are nuts are going to be driving around in our new maros and enjoying the ride making everyone else nuts. It is all good. Who knows anyway, maybe one day I will have both,................ or maybe 2 camaros!

I was torn between an 08 Jetstream Blue Corvette Convertible and the 2LT/RS that I have ordered. I will probably be picking up the VETT this weekend. I talked with the dealer regarding my order. When it arrives both me and my wife will drive it and make a decison on whether to keep it or pass. Dealer said no problem refunding my deposit. Hopefully I will get the best of both worlds.

I would get a 06 to 09 Vette if you want one used.

The 05 had several issues.

Starting in 08 you could get the Crystal Red Color.

I have had 7 corvettes since 1994,before that I had a 1986 IROC-Z,I wish I never would have sold it....The Corvette I have now is a 2009 Crystal Red Vert....This is the best color of RED that I have ever seen in my opinion. It has the the 3lt pkyg(hud, heated seats, telescoping steering wheel,xm,onstar, both power seats,)nav,z51,npp exhaust, chrome wheels, power top....I could go on and on...I had a 2006 Victory Red coupe before this car,it was a 2lt car,it didnt have the hud,z51 and it was excellant car...the only reason I bought a new one was because our house flooded during hurricane Gustav...I will buy a new Camaro SS(Black with Black and Grey interior with Grey stripes) either this year or next, I just have to drive one and see this car in person first...Maybe a SS vert next year...I really do think that Chevy has done the Camaro right, and it will be a good car for a long time....... Good Luck with your decision

Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

Dude, if you can buy a 2006 C6 vert for $30K don't even think twice, have you seen the numbers...it is a bonafide 12 second showroom stock car! Look, I love Camaros (owned 20 of them, 2 big block SS's) but there is no comparison to a vette, it is and always will be King of the Road. I love the new Camaro, but my next car will be a 2005 or 2006 'vette, six speed 'vert, then comes the new SS Camaro.
