The Camaro is a 3 year and out car

who is going to care in 4 years ?

Mustangs will be here long into the future and I can't say that about the Camaro. The Corvette yes but not the Camaro.

I hope I can get one (a camaro) next year for MSRP.

cheers

Dear god, I hope that the mustang outsells the camaro! You see a mustang every 5 miles ATLEAST. Please, do not outsell ford, GM.

Love,
A Person that wants his car to be semi unique

The Camaro will outsell the Mustang once the line gets up and running to full capacity. New car so alot of interest. The Mustang is not redesigned significantly enough to generate a bunch of new interest especially from 05 to 07 Mustang owners who might otherwise want to move up.

that is something pretty horrible to say to a dying company.

I think camaro's will outsell mustangs this year and then fall behind again next year.

Since 1968, the Camaro has outsold the Mustang only 8 times. 8 times in 34 years of production. If it were a baseball player, the Camaro would be playing in the minors with a .235 batting average.

If people in other countries could get their hands on one or the other the sales numbers would be even bigger for the mustang

Do people in Europe even know what a camaro is anyway ?
Why in God's name would anyone in Europe want a Mustang? They value fuel economy over just about anything else. Who wins there? Camaro.
And why don't you ask a European what they think about a solid rear axle versus IRS.
Selling the Mustang in Europe would be like trying to sell one of the old ipod shuffles that looked like pregnancy tests to someone with an iphone.

It would be nearly impossible for the Camaro to outsell the Mustang. Mustang is just engrained in people. Camaro just doesn't have the same notoriety. I hope that the new V6 engine will sway a few people to buy the LS or LT Camaro over the Mustang V6 based not on its HP which most people don't care about, but for its fuel efficiency.

IF the Camaro survives more than 3 production years, than yes - maybe.

The Stang already has offered new headlights and revised rear styling to compete. But, how may are open-minded enough to say "The Camaro is Fresh" and forget the "Stale Stang."

First year should be close. Second year, IDK.

But I do know there is a Mustrange on every corner. Heck my dad drives a late-model puke green one.

Camaro will definitely outsell Mustang. Hey if Chally can do it, Camaro should be overkill (atleast I hope )

BTW, I think the look of the new Mustang is really nice, except I hate the gold color.

A part of me wants chevy to do really well with the camaro

But another part of me wants chevy to only sell "enough" of the camaros to keep it around for atleast 5 years.

I want chevy to find thier niche in a different market...like their cobalt...so more tuner type vehicles.

I do not want a car that everyone else will have...that is the mustang's problem...it did so well...it got to be a boring car...Think about it...

When you are driving down the road and see a mustang...do you do a double take or do you just acknowledge that its a mustang and will prolly expect to see 5 more on your commute home.

I want the camaro to be a rarity...so whenever you pass a camaro...you almost cause a 100 car pile up cuz the car was so out of this world and so badass...that you subconsciously and immediately disregarded the life of others to get another look at the car.

Also...i see performance cars like the camaro and maybe the vette (the current model) dying out in the next 5 years... the way that the treehuggers have a grip on congress...and now congress has a grip on GM...i can't say that the V8 will be around much longer.

The vette might stay...but not as a V8...i hate the EPA

So then you would need the Camaro to be more expensive and have higher profit margin for GM so they could justify building it. I don't think they could do so any other way. It would have to have a high profit margin if they aren't going to sell in massive mustang like numbers.

Well said, syr74.

Like most others here, I, too, hope the '10 Camaro outsells the Mustang.

Quite seriously though, I am very appreciative that we actually have a choice.

In 2007, if you wanted a two-door rear drive muscle/pony car, Mustang was about it.
Late '08 brought us the superb Challenger, and soon the Camaro joins the fray. I love it.

Let us all give thanks.

My IOM 2SS/RS is still at 1100. Darn!
