Your car sounds amazing Mett!
My Solo HF "res-cats" will be here Thursday. Can't wait...

Guess I'm gonna be first to adapt them to a pair of JBA shorts- got my fingers crossed. I'll take a few pics and report back in case there are a few others considering the same option.

I know its been done with DT's, but I think the JBA are a bit longer (the 1st O2 sensor sits in the header collector). Are the DT's the same?

Thanks for any input!

The DT shorties do not have 02 sensor bung holes in them. The solo hfc's have both bungs on them.

I think you would nail the sound you are looking for.

I am not yet 100% happy with my overall sound yet, it is close, very close. I am going to have the resonated X put on Tuesday as I still pick up a little tinn-e-ness on quick revs. If that don't do it, I may resort to joining the Army.

Sounds great! Member out here put solos on his v8 and same thing, a little louder and deeper, no drone increase with his solo j pipes axelback and res x pipe. The res x will smoothen and deepen the tone and kill alot of reasp and drone if present, but will make the car more quiet and add a bit of muffled sound so watch for that. You guys are lucky though, if I want to stay legal out here in Kali I cant really do the highflows and the only carb legal shorties are the new ARH's and they cost $1000 ! for 10 hp I dont think so.

Put the Magnaflow resonated X-pipe on today. WOW, what a difference, NO MORE RASP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is a little bit quieter, a little more refined sounding. Finally happy with my exhaust. Did some math though, OH MY..... DT shorties; $350, install $300. Used Solo hfc's ; $100 (roughly $600 off a new set), install $250. Magnaflow resonated X; $100, install $80. Flowmaster AMT's; $400, install $115. Total is $1695 for a bad@$$ sounding exhaust, Value of the permagrin; priceless. But I'm not gonna tell the wife

I'm glad your happy with the sound even with the resonated X...if you want you could take a couple updated vids so we can compare the before and after!

How in the world did you get the SOLO HFCs for $100???

Aren't they still going for nearly $700 new? I think I'd like a set of them...but I don't want to pay near that lol.

My man vinny (mydreamcar) sold his used ones to me for $125 shipped. I P.M.d him asking him a question and he was like, "I still have them in my shed if you want them I will dig them out and sell em for $100."

I will post some new vids, it is wet and rainy today, so maybe tomorrow.
Well, I can do an in cabin neutral rev one for ya. Gimme a few minutes.

OK...so I finally got to give the videos a listen....I think it sounds great! I do like the revs even more with the resonated X instead of without. A nice low tone with a good amount of rumble....sounds very similar to my setup tone-wise but mine doesn't have nearly that much rumble yet. I hope I can get close to that some day. I know how to do it...just not sure if I'll get there.

So how do feel the HFCs changed the tone after you added them? Did they make the tone any lower...or just louder? I'd like to know your thoughts.

Thanks!
