Sorry for possibly asking a stupid question but, is it possible someone wouldn't know if the 5th bow was broken?

I wonder how many vert owners have no idea and possibly why some dealers say they have had no complaints.

I drive by a dealership everyday that has abunch of verts and half with bad 5th bows I can see from the street they actually have 1 up on ramps for all the world to see. It's a crying shame they have no clue.

What does the top look like when the 5th bow is broken (from the outside)? Anyone have a picture?

Sorry if this tortures owners with these issues......I am a newbie to this forum and am just trying to catch up to this issue as I will be ordering a 2013 and am hoping this will be resolved, or just be prepared if it isn't :-)

look for a large gap between back deck and top . Also the top will be wrinkled and loose

WOW what a great day a little chilly but sunny and beautiful. I think I'll go to the garage and pull out the camaro for a spin...Oh wait a minute it's not there ! What happened? was it stolen? Oh that's right still at the dealer waiting for an engineer to come fix it again. This is getting no check that this has gone way past old.

OK, So the GM engineer replaced the bow and water bag today. Car is still at shop with top down so the water bag can be formed into place? They are going to finish it tomorrow and do wind and water test. I hope it works but after Nutbutts experience it sounds like these engineers all have different procedures to fix these things but we shall soon find out.

Went to visit car and talk to the engineer. He found that the water bag was a mess and was bunched up in the corner and he believes this was the problem. I saw just after the water test and it was back in shop so it was hard to see any thing on top as it was still soaking wet but it looked nice and tight. Won't have car back untill early next week due to a paint issue being taken care of by dealer. I am cautiuosly optomistic but not completely sold on this explanation but time will tell.

Spike, who is the dealer that you are working with, I'm curious. I live in Doylestown.

The red headed bitch (lovingly said) is back! Picked it up today, top looks good Windows are quiet again, top goes up and down with no rubbing noise. Don't know about wind noise yet as I was to busy enjoying the top down experience I have been missing for so long. I will definetly report on this over the weekend. Could this be the end? Hopefully. I am cautiously optomistic(again). Thanks go out to Fbodfather Who took time during his time at St Mary's to send me a message. Also to Amos at GM customer service , Jeff Morris of course and to Dave at Reedman-Toll Chevrolet service. I will give this ''fix'' a week before I start my apology tour as promised. Last but not least to Al Oppenhieser for taking a personal interest in my troubles with this car.

Been looking at threads like these and wondered aloud wether or not a Vert is for me.
I went to one of my local dealers to look at a 12 45th edition. The car was parked right up front and it obviously has these problems showing on a brand new car. The sales people wouldn't even come out to talk with me. I think they saw me looking hard at the problem areas and decided to take a pass.

This is really bad Chevrolet.
