Wow. No.

The Evo is a GREAT car.

you want an unbiased Evo review? Go check out the Top Gear Evo X on Youtube and you'll see what an Evo can do.

You can tell the diffrence between people who only like specific cars, and people who like cars. Coming from a muscle and classic car family I was raised on big blocks. Though being younger I was not in that generation. So I went to imports(now moving to the Camaro). YET, I still appreciate cars of all types. The Evo is a amazing car no matter what any of you think. They put more engineering into their cars and theres no denying it. As far as cost c'mon? GM is just as bad if not worst for charging outragous money and scamming people.

Take Cadillac....The "new" CTS. A family member owns a 2006 CTS. Bought for around 27,000. When the new body style came out suddenly it starts at nearly 40,000 for a equal car. Thats a $13,000 increase from model year to model year.

Everyone complains about Mustang guys and how they think their cars are better, and how crappy rice is, and how unbelievable the Camaro is(which it is ). PSSST BTW.....go find out where most of your trusty GM parts come from.

I don't know what Mitsubishi uses, but an AWD is usually split 35/75 percent FWD/RWD respectively. So no, every AWD application I have seen is rear biased.

You have? As well as spending comparable time in a CTS-V? Well then by all means enlighten me. I'm not saying it is a bad car, and neither am I saying the CTS-V dominates it, but people need to look past badges. Just because it says BMW does not mean it is the absolute best car in it's class.

Yes

My brother in Law is a fan of expensive cars. We've looked at LP560 Lamborghini's, 430 Scuda's, and Porsche GT2's.

His Daily driver is an 08' M5, and for kicks we took a look at the new CTS-V. Now im not going to lie and tell you ive gone on road trips with the V or gone flying through a parking garage at the 8000+rpm redline setting off every car alarm, but we got to take it out and play with it.

As far as a Peformance car goes, its as good as it gets for the money. Every bit the M5. Its nice on the inside, and kind of gives me the Corvette Sedan feeling. However it doesnt feel like the M, and you can feel the absence of 30k worth of upgrades.

There's a reason Cadillac's new styling is a sucess, and its not because nobody likes it.

I suppose if you prefer the ugly, awkwardly styled japanese sports coupes though (370Z), so you're opinion might differ. But in any case, nobody cares. Myself and everyone else will continue to like nice cars like the CTS-V, you keep living in whatever hole you came out of.

Unbiased?? Those guys are a joke. Top gear is not a legit source, the majority of thier show is for pure entertainment. Its a good show, but you can't take it all seriously. They were just racing old box vans in the last episode I saw, you're got to be kidding. And just like the Lamob vs. the Evo - they spun the Lambo out on purpose so the Evo could keep up. No way a 225WHP 4 door is going to keep up with a 500HP Lamborghini given the same track with equal drivers. Use some common sense.

The Evo is not a "great" car. I have friends who have them and they are junk. Very poor quality, all kinds of things go wrong with them. And they never get above 20MPG, even on the highway. You could accomplish the same thing by throwing a turbo on any other economy car and upgrading the suspension. Evo is nothing more than a riced up Lancer with upgrades, same basic chassis. As someone else said, its a $15,000 car with $15,000 worth of engine and chassis upgrades.

Vladkgb summed it up pretty well:

And of course every Evo driver has a giant sideways fart can with a melted plastic bumper in typical JDM fashion. The exhaust tone and resonation is enough to make you want to wear ear muffs when riding in the car, it sounds horrible.

Never huh ?

To take it MPG one step farther , I drove from Raleigh to Concord to watch a NASCAR Allstar race , after the race sat in parking lot/trafic for 2hrs with the car running , filled up the next day on the way home and got 27 MPG .

Ive looked for over 6 year for a better all over preformance car for the $$ , Iam still looking , b/c not like others, Iam not a brand whore if is better ill take it .

you obviously have never seen top gear if thats what you think...

those guys HATE on every car, they B*tch and complain about every little thing that the normal car enthusiast wouldnt notice.. i was surprised on how little they hated on the evo.

as for the evo vs the lambo topic, that was a tuned up evo making 425-450 and it weighs 400 pounds less than the lambo... soo no its not that surprising..

I myself have been a car enthusiast since i could pick up a wrench, ive owned many different cars, and ive been tracking and dragging cars since i was little. bottom line is i love cars, and i think its really stupid how people get obsessed with how lame ricers are and how only big douche bags who watch UFC drive mustangs. geeet over it, we all like cars, respect each other
